Hey all
I'm just about to rebuild my 04 400ex and I wana give it sum more berries.
I'm thinking of going with a 440 kit and stage 2 hot cam with a rev box.
Can anyone else that runs a similar setup tell me what its like in comparison with a 450?
I have also seem hot rods have a 4mm stroker crank which takes it upto a 460 with the big bore, has anyone used a stoker and can you tell me what they're like performance and reliability wise?
Also if anyone has any other suggestions for making good power with these engines it would be much appreciated.
cheers |

| hay ben had a 400ex and put a 440 kit in it to try and keep up with the 450. gave it a far bit more down low but still not enough to keep up with the 450s. with the cam it should give it a bit more i sold mine not long after and now have a 450r very happy. |

You could just buy mine Its 416, high comp. all the suspension is TCS... goes on and on.... lol...
The 440 kit will give you plenty down low but still not enough to keep up with the piped and modded 450's. Ask Grant (Fast440ex) on here. He just rebuilt his 400 and went out to the 440. _________________ Mic

yeah man my 440ex rips, pulls threw every gear good, a huge night and day difference to me. it really woke the engine rite up
it has really good bottom and mid range,,,,,, also it still gose good up top 2
and when i rebuilt it a got a 450r carb to, throttle response is sweat.
but like they have stated above it still wont keep up with modded 450's to a extent
