Well another successful weekend was had trail riding in South East Vic.
I realised that putting in an un-tested carby was a bad idea (glad I had a spare). That, as well as assuming a certain tyre shop can fix a leak after 3 attemps was an interesting beginning to the weekend.
Big JB ("Gunna") worked out that he should have got some porting done to go with the hi comp piston (and all that bullshat), went riding with the boys, then realised that he waisted his money as he couldn't keep up with a stock DS650 - he was that slow a 250 Scrambler wasn't far off him.
Yogie got confused between his brake and the throttle and ended up in a tree, you should have heard the twin Yoshi's sing. I think it was the first time that 700 has ever been on full noise, even if it was only for a split second - (sausage) Head!
At the end of the day the lads done some 160+ Kays.
Sunday was a smaller group as some of the team had go home, or run out of clean jocks. This was just as well as it wasn't for the faint harted. We found some new tracks that by the end of them tested the most serious campainer. (you would have loved it Beech).
Next ride is already planned, sadly more of the same Yogie, so I hope that Bumble Bee can get your green machine straighted out by then.
Perhaps you should ask him to move the brake leaver to a better position. |

Yes an awesome trail ride was again run. Perfect venue, perfect tracks, perfect weather and great company. With plenty of alcohol and food consumed and plenty of the usual flowing around the camp fire, I think that all had a great time.
The rides this time were quite challenging with speed, endurance, consistency and fitness being the key to the 140 k's covered on Saturday and skill, confidence, experience and sometimes pure luck being the key for the technical tracks covered on Sunday (today). Not one of us got through with a clean sheet today no matter what type of quad or brand, we all had our difficulties. With two of us coming home with punctures we knew we had covered some tuff terrain. But the huge hill climbs, river crossings, mud holes, rutts, logs, off camber slides and rocks were all defeated in the end by the SE Quad Riders.
For all those that we couldn't fit in book early for the next one in just 3 weeks time and another one 2 weeks after that. |

yes a great ride put on by the chaps, 10/10 And the trails were fantastic, cant wait for the next one, well thats if bumble bee has put the green one back together by then... And did anyone see MY brusied and battered ego, I think I left it half way up a tree. But you wont get anymore better riding, chaps and all that goes with it than in the Sth East. _________________ 2005 KFX700

Its not the quad letting him down Pete, its his apparant fear of using the whole throttle .
Besides, a 500 kit will still only keep up with a stock DS |

ok well yes a great weekend. i would first like to thank the following sponsors:
yogies taxis service
"shovel" security for keeping us safe all weekend
"big bird Lycra" for all your tight fitting needs (its a sight ill never 4get )
"woodys porting" for the customer thats "gunna" get it done 1 day
"Stewy's landscaping", I'll spray it, u cop it" (& i did)
"back 9 trail rides"....."we always go the back way"
well it was a blast, 1 last thankyou 2 big bird, as we were going down a steep hill i was stressen i was going to go ova the bars again i heard a supportive voice all the way down the hill, " F!@#in speed up, F@$#in slow C^&*, F@#$in hurry up over & over & all my worrys went away....
Hows the carb going? big birds F!@#in excuse 4 everything that went wrong 4 u & get ya tyres fixed, i might of been slower than u but i did more F!@#in riding than u
The Lyrca, F!@# me ive seen some disturbing things in my life but that was just 2 much!
I also had no idea i quad could be parked in a tree, honestly yogie it was an impressive demo mate.
bumble bee with singing talent like that i think your ready 4 oz idol, ive vote 4 ya champ
Yes pete i was talking with woody about porting & i got out around the camp fire that i hadnt got it done with the other work & copped a "tiny" bit of flack ova it......guys i was thinkin of getting some porting done, what u think?
Woodys was an excellent guide (had nothing 2 do with a GPS) & your right the trails offered all kinds of grief 4 us & i got a kick out of watching the big wide DS's having trouble fitting inbetween the trees', bigh bird have u eva thought of making a lyrca outfit 4 your bike?
Couldnt think of a better bunch of bloke 2 hit the trails with......! _________________ 04 TRX 450r

Hey JB if you think I look good in Lycra, you should watch Bumble Bee and Beech do their trails thing. Besides what the F?#$ are you doing looking at my ass?.
You might have done more riding than me over the weekend champ, but its all about the quality besides you don't know what I was doing to your tooth brush while you were gone.
I love Yogie's comment, "I will return, faster....." - I bloody hope so, my 5yr old's ride faster (not too much of an exaggeration either)
As Woody said, I've spoken to the property owner, and she's more than happy for us to go back (especially when I gave her a wad of cash)
I'll be in touch to see who's coming.
JB, now that the swimming is over, there might be some cheap lycra available, do you want me to get you some? |

I think its time to become a better, more confident rider Yogie.
At the very least understand what your quad is able to do. |

As 4 the Lycra, i know id never look as good as u do in those short shorts, actually id go as far as saying they r more like hot pants, Y was i looking? well those white chicken legs of yours, need i say anymore? & id hate 2 take the focus off u buddy _________________ 04 TRX 450r

I knew that I shouldn't have told you about the tooth brush till next week.
It did get that "hard to reach" spot though. As for starching your clothes,
I couldn't get a story going so settled with pissing in Stuarts Bourbon.
(Told you I was struggling with a story Bumble Bee)
The "hot pants" might not look the best, but when you actually ride your quad past 2nd gear, and get air between your wheels and the ground you want the boys to be tucked away safely. Nothing worse than uncomfortable boys and not being able to stop, or worse not nailing a jump right and sitting on them!!!
You wouldn't know about that though would you JB, rumour has it that you sit to piss |

Just to change the subject a bit so that you love birds can have a rest I just cleaned the Gasgas from the weekend and have ordered an LT Racing needle and jetting kit and a larger power valve cover from the US. Also booked her in next week for some headwork , timing & porting work. She should be humming along for the next trail ride.
I was "Gunna" get some other stuff like a Vortex and a pipe but I might leave that for now and see how much better she goes with the basics. Rumour has it I will achieve 30% more power, a lot more grunt low down and through the mid range and heaps more torque. Can't wait. |

JB you are starting to disturb me.
1st learn to spell, I thought we covered this last weekend?!
2nd Stop perving. There was nothing even remotely comparative to a great camel toe, perhaps in your fantasies but not in real life.
I also notice that you're the only person commenting on me wearing bike pants. This is a disturbing thought, especially when you invite me over to your place only when your missus it out.
Stepped out of any closets lately??? |
