I agree that $1200 is steep but one must remember that at the Gas Dash, there might be only 11 quads, but those 11 have some status and when the DVD comes out, there will be shots of 11 entries and not only in the back ground of some shot taken of a CAMS entry. This event actually does take quads seriously and we are not there just to make up the numbers. I personally feel that the organisation out at Coonatha is way better than when you overnight down at the Finke community. The facilities are better and you are not on the start line in the sun forever waiting on some vehicle to get moved off the track. In my opinion coming into the Race track at the end of the Dash were literally the whole town is spectating is awesome. It is also might I remind everyone, an event that cannot be pre-run, so everyone is even on the day. The results over the past years have also shown that big budget racers and weekend warriors alike have all taken there places on the Podium.
Good luck to everyone racing this weekend, hopefully I can be back next year! _________________ Its not if you win or lose but how you enjoyed the ride! |

well i did not think about the per run side of is , make it a much more even race.
I have always enjoyed watching the DASH DVD and you can tell they like the quads as they get alot of footage and the comentator know's there name's and there history. _________________ hustleratv.com.au 0407 797 780

| Congratulations to my husband John Iuliano (Streeto) for taking out the Quad section of this weekends Gascoyne Dash and also to William Nyholt (2nd place), Adam Gilbert (3rd place) and Lyndsay Pond (4th place). Kirk Williams and Logan Trigg put in a great effort both starting 2min behind John after day 1. Unfortunately for the both of them mechanical issues ended their race on day 2. John had a big stack 30km from the finish, bike flipped 5 times (counted by a spectator), bent the bars down to the tank and still managed to get it back to the finish line. Have to say this years Gas Dash was the best organised by far a real family event great activities for the kids, entertainment for the whole family everything ran on time and big trophies this year . well done to the Gascoyne Dash Off Road Race Club! and thanks to heath young for the tyres, and ivan and the boys for pit crew. well said predatory |

Well done John and Will & Adam & Lyndsey. Just goes to show that this is a tough race and there are always casualties, thankfully, usually only machinery and not riders. Kirk has had a really bad string on DNF's at the Dash but the boy does not hold back. Put it this way, if Kirk does finish, he is on the podium. Where was Ivan this year?
Hopefully I will be back in WA next year or I will make the trek from Qld for this one. John, I hear you were on the Outlaw, What are your thoughts? Now that you have had a chance to race one? _________________ Its not if you win or lose but how you enjoyed the ride! |

As pit crew for a rider, I missed the first and third fuel stop on day two because on a dusty gravel road, a sign the size of A4 paper is just not good enough. Maybe something like a barn door might have worked.
Also at Rocky Pool I did not see anyone taking times as bikes came in, yet it was supposed to be a timed stop.
Yes the organisers are pro buggy but lets not forget thats how the event started. Bikes are an after thought.
My first time at Gas Dash was with a quad rider but I get the feeling if quad numbers don't increase they will be left out. From a bike perspective, that's not a bad thing. _________________ Cheers,

Apparently, they were using transponders this year for the first time and that is why there was know one recording times. This also added $100 to the entry fee, which every rider got back when they handed the transponder back. _________________ Its not if you win or lose but how you enjoyed the ride! |
