I asked the same question about 6 months ago. I bought a second hand dual gasser twist/thumb but they aren't that good.
Personally after all my enquiries I am resigned to a thumb throttle until I attempt some VERY LONG RIDES like a Gas Dash or Finke (yeah right!).
I Have tried a few mates quads with twist throttle and I find slow tight tracks to be very tricky, even downright dangerous. Thumb throttle allows for more controlled precise riding whereas twist is good for long fast open riding.
What helps heaps is to go to a gym equipment shop and buy some hand strengthening equipment. Also makes your handshake a lot stronger. _________________ Cheers,

I`ve gone from a thumb to a twist and it`s one of the best mods i have done to my Honda.
I feel more confident with a twist throttle.... _________________ Phil..... |

| i use a duel gasser and i love it mostly use the twist but for hard trail riding i use the thumb as you can accelerate when you dont want to with a twist |

Yeah sometimes I think the twist would be the go, but having the thumb reminds me which machine I'm riding!!
Countersteering is VERY different on two wheels versus four

A dual gasser would be good, twist just for cruising, trails, enduro ect and a thumb for mx speedway that sort of thing. I know though from riding my mates RMZ250 though its really hard to let go of a twist when things start to get a bit shakey where as on a thumb you can still hang onto the bars and just drop the throttle. _________________ "If in doubt go flat out"
