And you just know the ROPS for quads lobby will use this.
The newspaper mentions a recent poll at the end of the article about wearing helmets on quadbikes for farm work. The farmers are mainly against it, I don't reckon the tractors move as quick as a quad.....

And the FCAI, who represent quad manufacturers, are not taking this ROPS stuff quietly......

Que the whinging from the ROPS 4 Quads manufacturers.

another case of stupidity, mind you (if at all possible) the only positive thing out of this the article mentioned several times the use of helmets could/might have saved the boy.

and the worksafe worker in this Micheal birt, I have tried to contact him several times to speak to him about what programs are availible and nothing from him... go figure.

This 18 minute scientific testing video pretty much sums up a lot of the comments riders and forum users have been saying on the matter.
Quite a bit of Aussie testing and input there too! Smile

Short version, you've about a equal chance of getting hurt as not, which means no benifit.
And they are OK on a side by side with conventional seating.
