Hi all we have been invited to put on a demo of what our buggies can do at Lytton Motorcross club located next to Fort Lytton in Brisbane, on Sunday 5 of June. Although it is only an official practice day I have been told that if there is enough interest they will run a class for us on a race day. Cost is $30 for the day and I am told we will have a series of 15 minute runs on the track.
We have 3 Redline Revolts already committed and it would be good to see a few SxS there to show these guys that we are serious about joining in the fun.
The track has been designed for smaller mx bikes and the jumps arn't huge so we should be able to put them a show...
Who's in?
Dan

Dan, is there a pic of the track?

Is it a long course MX track and are there whoops that the bigger buggies & SXS will nose into instead of riding across like the bikes? If so may need a bypass.

Thats been my experience so far with whoops in the sand and on a clay track hitting the front of a whoop will mean a crash not a beach spray like this.

So has anyone assessed the track? Who is underwriting the "practice and potential race"? Pics of the track? Are the jumps one to another so there is a potential to crash into the front of the next jump? All about keeping the power up to it.

Sound like a good thing. I still have that guy up at Bollon chasing me for a race event so if we get enough guys going to this track event there is another in the wings ifd people will travel a bit to support their sport.

I wont have my SXS back from the Mechanics by then coz he has left me for Finke! lol

Anyone need a second and I can get <$99 flights I'll come up for the fun! And chat about the sport. Very Happy

SxS , I haven't scene the track for about 15 years, a mate of mine kids race there 1 on a quad and the other on a 85cc honda. He is the one that has set it up for us. He also told me there is only one canyon jump that could cause concern but most of the other jumps are designed for the smaller mx bikes so they should be ok for us. (he does ride with us regularly and knows the sort of tracks that suits our machines.)
I dont know who is underwriting the event but i will try and find out.

A couple of pics of the track the jumps dont look to big.

This morning we went to the track as arranged , when we drove in the gate the guy running the show just asked us what we were doing there??? (not the start i was looking for) After a few phone calls to the guys who organized (and I use the term loosely ) our run it was agreed that we could have a run on the track. However they insisted we only used the start straight , first corner and first jump ...a total of 50m's so we could get some photo's oh and that will be $30 dollars for the pleasure....
So needless to say the buggy's didn't come of the ute and we went home disappointed.
Sorry to those guys who made it out there for nothing.
Dan

Yeah it sucked a bit, but it was good to catch up Dan.
We'll have to go for a run real soon.

Disappointing to hear guys, hope the next "organised" run has a bit more cred and a bit more bang!
