 |
|
Hey guys i was out riding a few weeks back and by the end of the day my bike wouldnt start. even though the bike had been running all day. It is basicly a brand new battery ?
1) how often do you have to start your bike in order for the battery to stay good ?
2) I have a trickle battery charger i should use this when im not using the bike, do i keep this on all the time ?
3) or could there be some other problem why the battery is losing charge.
any help would be great. As i am going riding in the next few weeks and dont want to be jump starting it everytime i switch it off

Do you have headlights? Run with them on. If you have removed them do you have the resistor kit?
Easiest battery to fit is one of a Raptor 350, only needs minor trimming to the plastics. |

| another thing to make sure of is that the battery terminals are clean and making good connection ie tight, if this isnt the case the charge cant get in as good and when cranking it cant supply enough power to the starter. |

hey guys yeah i have head lights. So ill run with them on all the time. I have a manual fan switch that cools the bike, that i have on all the time while running, so mabe that drains the battery ?. And ill have a look at the terminals make sure ther all clean and tidy.
thanks for the advice

Just run with the lights on and it'll be fine. The stator on these won't charge unless it has some current being drawn. I have no idea why you're running with the fan on all the time? This certainly won't help as the fans draws a lot of current. The fan only kicks in if you're sat still for ages or stuck in a bog etc? I'd advise you stop running with it on.
Get the Raptor 350 battery as it's larger and has more cold cranking amps. |
