Hey Guys,
I recently fitted a Come Up winch to my quad and given it wasn't plain sailing I thought I'd put a few notes on here... all about making peoples life easier.
Firstly let me thank Dino and Jake from Udy Quad Country in Toowoomba for their guidance.
1. Throw away the book... it's all but useless. I think it was written in Klingon!
2. separate the base plate, mounting plate, roller assembly and winch. Even with the bash plate and roo bar removed it has to stripped to fit. Put the mounting plate in place, then the base plate and the winch on top. Then bolt them all together.
3. Strip the side and front fairings.
4. Run the power cable from the battery forward. I followed the existing loom but it was a tight fit.
5. Run the cables up from the winch.
6. mount the handle bar switch and run the cable into the area below the front fairing. You'll find a socket with a blanking plug in it. Remove the blank and fit the plug from the switch.
7. Now I ran the cables and figured where they all come to is where the relay goes, not so. It actually goes on the right hand side near the top of the front shocky (see pics).
8. Now I found with the position of the relay the red cable from the winch doesn't reach. So I had once made at Battery World (200mm longer).
9. Connect the cables from the battery, winch and switch to the relay.
10. Connect the cables to the battery and test....
Hope this helps. If you have an questions please PM me....
11. Rebuild.... _________________ TGB 550 Blade with custom paint work
