 |
|
| well i brought a complete set elka stage 5 shocks front and rear, from the states a few months ago, after trying out the back shock i decided to send them all to hardiman atv for a service before finke, well hows this, after shane from hardiman couldnt belive i had a set stage 5 shocks second hand all ready, and after doing some research with elka turns out they are a proto type stage 5 shock built and tested by dustin nelson in the states a set of only 3 built before the final production of the stage 5, after elka contacted shane and werent very happy i have them, seems as tho golden west cycles who sponsered dustin, replaced them with fox floats and never returned the shocks to elka, and ended up selling them instead, now elka rekon as they are a prototype nothing in side is the same as the production version, and if some thing major goes wrong or is wrong they cant be replaced, so what i though was a bargain isnt really lol, now what to do spend 600 service them, and pray nothing ever major goes wrong, or make a statue out them lol. shane is gonna contact elka again see how valuable the shocks are too them, they might do me a deal on another set if i return these but my luck that wont be the case. |

It highlights the cons of buying from unknown sources in the usa.
I am sure shane will what he can to sort it out, hope they swap them over for you that would be a big bonus.
Look at the brightside you are a factory elka rider for now. _________________ 2012 sponsors, Working on it. |

cheers guys, yer shane has been very helpful so far, and hes gonna contact elka again and ask the question how valuable are they too them, but im thinking now that they are in production anyway way they would no longer be usefull anyway as all the testing has been done, hopefully hear back tomorrow see what the verdict is.
as for feeling like a pro hmmm i only used the back shock at thumb pump, and def wasnt feeling like a pro the week after that lol |

Good to hear.
I have stage 4's and I love them. It will be worth the wait for sure. _________________ KFX 700

Goldenwest Cycles is not some 'unknown source'. There bigger than all the Australian resellers together.
@ boosted22: Have you contacted Goldenwest Cycles about this? I've had nothing but great service from GWC. _________________ Don't close your eyes during the crash, you'll miss the best part |
