Spent today with family and tha Tabones at port augusta mx track at their practice day
Wow awsome track fast with long start staright should be a good drag race to tha holeshot then hitting a few big air time jumps with fast cornering brems... found it a good technical track for quads hopefully we can get a few quad numbers to put on a show at a few of their mx meets for the year on sunday 19th sept and sunday 10th oct
Spoke to a port augusta club member who is interested in getting a junior quad class for his daughter to ride her raptor 90 in at mx meeting aswell
i think this would be good opportunities for quad riders to get another motorcycle club to allow quads at their mx meetings

october date seems ok for us at this point, i'll talk to nathan, shane and chris about bringing the adelaide atv accessories team out to play

Sounds more than GREAT Matt.
I'm sure you'll get a few Adelaidians there, and with your local mob, that should make a good show.
Sept 19 is the Vic State Titles and Oct 10 is a QRASA Enduro Round at Renmark also.
So don't be too disapointed if you can't get too many extras up...
It won't be because they are not interested, that's for sure.

damn i forgot about renmark was thinking about ridin in that
may be i should keep my mouth shut in future (need enduro in whyalla area)
oh well the a few clubs in area having trouble staying afoat at mx meets like kimba motocyle club will see if we can ride there too at future mx meets and port lincoln was interested in quads there aswell
next year might be good for promoting quads at mx meets for when planning next season meets
i know i managed 2 convert 2 guys who are my m8s who rode 2 wheelers into buying quads, 1 got a 09 yami 450r the other 1 got a 2010 yami 450r on order shoud b here this week
so interest is growing in whyalla look out that over 6 local lads 4 clubman class in whyalla

Clashing dates is one of QRASA's favourite problems
really hard to avoid.
If you've got 6, even a couple more is a good race.

hey bullet, if matt gets some ground work in now with those eyre peninsular clubs and gets them to lock in some 2011 dates, we could incorporate them into our 2011 series and would save next years mx co-ordinator a bit of work.

potential 2011 mx season could be.......

3 rounds acusa
1 round whyalla
1 round renmark
1 round pt augusta

or any derivation thereof

I guess there would be a dozen scenarios that might work Kev.
As you know with ACUSA, i think we'll be sitting down to look at dates a lot earlier for next year.
I guess some of these other clubs might be interested in doing a round at ACUSA too?
And if we run at their tracks, it might have to be on their days, and we might only fit 1, 2 or 3 classes in.
So 2 different types of small series, 3 in each?
Dunno? Chelsea and you guys can work that out

Port Augusta is that 1 hour closer than Whyalla making it just that little bit easier for most.

yep pt Augusta is only 310 ks I think from memory from Adelaide, and another 70 or so onto whyalla from there, so a little less travel time.
i guess if we can get all the dates right it should look to be a big year of racing next year.

And don't forget that Daniel from Swampys in Naracoorte has mentioned that the Naracoorte MX track has just been revamped and they are keen for us to come and race there some time soon as well. This would be possibly a better option for numbers too, being closer to Vic and all. Maybe like mentioned earlier, a club Acusa series, and a separate SA Cup type series at other club days with less classes?
Just putting the options out there for those who make the decisions and do all of the work to consider.

u need at least 4 bikes to have a class no matter where u go that what ive found out if you can garantee 4+ then there no reason why u cant have a class
when i asked if quads can ride there i had to make shure tha all 4 of us were going to come over from whyalla to ride
i look petty silly if say to port augusta yep we want a quad class and olny two bikes rock up 2 ride
u just have 2 ring the peolpe who are running the event and tell them the numbers u have a few day b4

i threw the potential scenario at you coz as a member of the acusa park committee i was hoping you'd be pushing the 2011 dates barrow with us this year too, to follow up the great work you did last year (you know where i'm heading with this)

awesome to hear that a club/track is seeking our patronage (but that's the first i've heard of it) seems to be a lot of info falls on few ears only lately. maybe due to me not making a few meetings this year with some health stuff, maybe not. i'd like to know more if possible

finally
chelsea has again done an awesome job with the mx this year, as she did the year prior too. let's not assume though, that she either wants to, or will be the mx co-ordinator next year. that wont be known till the AGM, and although ii personally would like to see her fulfill a leading role, no-one could blame her for wanting a break either. therefore, any ground work that any of us can achieve now, will be an assistance to whoever fills the role

i guess ive got my feelers out kev there was talk about a promotional meet up at roxby 2 kev that whyalla quad riders were ask to attend in november in conjuction with the 2 wheers guys
i had 1 station owner near cowel who run 2 wheeler enduro on his station said he be intrested in running a quad enduro on his property and happy if qrsa go up 4 a scouting weekend to have a look at what he got
chrystal brooke motocycle club who ran masters games at baroota said be interested in having a enduro there aswell
im quite happy to do the feild work in this area/region

lol sounds good, but with all these events you have to organise mate i dont think your gonna get much time to ride

that's awesome matty, and as we discussed on the phone the other night, any ground work you do will reap dividends in the future. sometimes work we do this year doesnt get a guernsey till the following year or even the one after that, but if the work wasnt done now, the end result would be further away too
