 |
|
I have fitted a new axle to my Raptor today. Everything fits fine but there doesnt appear to be any obvious way of securing the sprocket hub to the axle to prevent lateral movement. I can grab the chain sprocket and slide it quite easily off the splines. Am I missing something. The Yamaha workshop manual shows only an o-ring which I assume is to seal the hub against the bearing carrier seal. _________________ I'm not suffering from insanity, I'm enjoying it!!! |

| Wgere's the circlip gone - metal ring that's split? It drops in the groove and stops the sprocket carrier moving. You then frrd the axle through the bearings, put the disc carrier on then tighten the nut and Bob's your uncle. |

fossil dont listen to him I know how to do it the right way, the kawasaki way
step one: get the biggest shifter you can find.
step two: now find some red grease, and some feathers
step three: coat your self in grease and feathers.
step four: now smack your head with the shifter till the pain stops and hopefully that will learn you for trying fix it your bloody self. _________________ 2005 KFX700

Had to throw the old sprocket hub out because I couldn't get it off the axle so the circlip would have gone too. Its funny how the YFZ450 axle drawing shows a circlip but the OEM Raptor one doesnt. Looks like I wont be riding til I can buy another one. _________________ I'm not suffering from insanity, I'm enjoying it!!! |

Maybe that's why you couldn't get the old one off, it still had the circlip on. _________________
