Im currently doing up a Kawasaki klt250c and am having electrical problems. I am trying to find out ohm readings for coil, cdi etc. and cannot find them anywhere. Does anyone here know what they should be? The only place I have seen manuals for sale is ebay usa so that may be my best option. The trike was not running when i bought it. It has no spark but will spark once when you turn ignition on or off. I found ohm reading for pickup coil and it checks out. The cdi and coil also get warm after a while. I have checked wiring and all seems ok, with no shorts or breaks. Im thinking cdi unit. Any ideas? Info on these is pretty hard to find compared to a honda. Cheers

If it's sparking at the plug when you turn ignition on & off. And it gets warm with ignition on. Sounds for sure like the motor is not controlling the spark. I guees its got no points. The hall effect / cdi is the issue then.
check what ever system is triggered from the crank

Try manually switching the coil from the cdi output.

thanks for that Paul...confirms what I was thinking. I had ordered cdi unit, regulator and genuine manual from usa anyway. I will throw a few pictures up of the old girl in the 3 wheeler section as I get time. These trikes are rarer than I thought and will be good to get it going and get amongst it.

Sorry for the impatience moderators but it seems slow.
