You hurt yourself enough on a 450, imagine what you can do on a 500. _________________ "If in doubt go flat out"

Athena, however you need to throw the piston in the garbage and buy a decent one (100mm bore)
or Cylinder works make a kit that suits for a bit cheaper (99mm bore) |

Low compression (10.7:1) also crappy material. I have a new one that anyone can have if they want it?
replaced it with CP piston |

athena or ice cube or preferably a kit that has a recast or billet barrel as a posed to a rebore though the latter is cheaper and still good as i use a cylinder works and hot rod crank on my bike. You save a couple of bucks but the walls are thinner. ??? _________________ adrenaline junky... |

yfz 450
the icecube has larger water jackets which would aid reliability, though i've used the cylinderworks on 2 bikes without any problems _________________ adrenaline junky... |

| You might try a 480cc big bore with a +3mm crank. It makes about 500cc and you get power throughout the power band as opposed to just a top end kit, which mainly produces mid to top end power. A Cylinder Works kit with a CP piston instead of the piston it comes with and the Hotrods crank work well, and you can get that whole set up for less than $900. |
