hi guys
i know i am promoting my own mechanic here but he is on to a good thing
they are called tyre plyers and i used my set for the first time the other day after much deciding whether it would be easier for me to take to the tyre place and spend $20 bucks or use these weird looking things.
well i have to say i changed 4 tyres in 10 mins and they work a treat.
best things ever and they definetly beat the old way i used to do them an that was driving the 4wd over the tyre to break the bead.
they work on all rims sizes and i think you can use them for your car/4wd if you needed.
seriously the best thing i have used in a long time, a must for every shed and trailer.
HST powersports is there atv distubutors and he will look after you, they retail for around $200 and they will save you heaps of coin over a few years of changing tyres.

I think tools like these are great but I honestly don't understand why these bike shops aren't doing them for free if your a loyal customer. I've been riding bikes for 7 years and only recently just got into quads, I've spent THOUSANDS on bike gear and clothing and whenever I need a new tyre put on or swapped they do it for free.
Its a 5 minute job, some guys are just getting greedy. |

true but alot of people take them to car tyre places and every business has the right to charge, plus and they don't have the right fittings for 8 and 9 inch rims so they have to get there muscles out to pull the tyres off after they have popped the bead and also they do tend to scratch the ATV rims when they don't have the right tools.
oh and the tyre plyers didn't scrach my rims, they might if you don't use them correctly but its nothing that a rag or a piece of rubber or something soft to protect your prescous rims _________________ 2012 sponsors, Working on it. |

Great things.
I was borrowing a set off Mick@47 for ages (he didn't need them because he is allergic to manual labour).
They are so easy to use and good for taking camping or to drift days for changing tyres in the pits.
Fronts are so easy, you can swap from sand to dirt tyres between riding each weekend.
Sort of like having two sets of wheels but only 1 set of rims.
This also allows me to rotate tyres to flip the inside to the outside for a sharper edge more often.
Sent within a couple of days too.
go Thomas. _________________ Can-Am X Team

Allergic to manual labour? Hey, I resemble that!
Tyre pliers are great and easy to use. I have watched heaps of people use my tyre pliers to change tyres for me and it looks really easy!

my brother is a distributer aswell, in WA, through ATVisions, there awesome to use especially when your in the bush or its late in the night and all the shops are closed, i made my own style bead breaker, easier to use but takes a bit more time. _________________ Bill Case

Not knocking tire pliers as they do have their place and are a well made product, but having used both, but for changing tyres at home i'd opt for my $70 supercheap tyre changing stand every time.
It's not that portable you would take it to the track though, but I've found it's easier on the rims and less work on your hands and knees getting the tyre off after you've broken the bead. It makes light work of car tyres and I've even changed bobcat tyres with it too. The bar provided isn't the best for putting the new tyre back but I've found long tyre levers work great.
