Just wondering if any of you more seasoned atv riders can help me out here...

I want an atv mainly to go hunting with and exercise the dogs. It doesnt need to be fast, economical or expensive, infact the cheaper the better. But it must be realiable. Around the 250-300cc would be good.

What make & model would you suggest for a new one?
What make & model would you suggest for a secondhand one?

Mate the Yamaha "big bears" range from 250-400cc. The "grizzly" from 350-700cc Honda has the four trax range 229-500cc + suzuki have the "king qaud" range from 400-7500cc also is the "ozark" which is a little 250. Kawasaki have the "workhorse" range 250-360cc & the" brute force" from 650-750cc. Can-am have the "outlander" from 400-800cc. i know ive missed plenty of other main stream brand models but stay with the main stream & you should be fine as far as reliability. For a hunter aggies have the racking which keeps things simple for mounting gun racks + having storage & deciding how big you want your engine would depend on the kind of weight you'd be carrying, all this is pretty standard stuff to consider, mind you i have a race style ATV i use for hunting...mounting the kolpin gun boot sucked, good luck

mate the 450 grizzly, a great machine, a you'll struggle with a 300cc after 20 minutes, too bloody slow, a 450 grizz will give years of joy. Very Happy

ive recently upgraded from a 300cc chinese quad to a 750cc banshee, no matter what i do to the chinese bike i cant brake it, ive rolled it a few times, smashed into trees, had it up to the seat in water (thank god for a snorkel) and it starts first time every time. it is up for sale for $2k if your interested, pm me.
