Hi all

I would like to introduce myself. My name is Sharon Finnan and I have recently commenced with the Department of Communities, Sport and Recreation Services Centre in the Cairns team with Tim Trehearn and Vanessa Ramsey.

The other purpose of this email it to invite you to be part of an upcoming event to be held in Cairns.
On Sunday 6 February 2011 a “Super Sports Day” will be delivered by the State Government across 15 Queensland communities, including Cairns. Those invited to be involved will include local sport and recreation organisations, regional associations, local governments and State Sporting Organisations.
The aim of the initiative is to assist sport and recreation clubs and associations promote their sport and provide registration information to the community, prior to the commencement of the winter sports season.
The “Super Sports Day" will be held in the following major regional and metropolitan centres:
Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Emerald, Rockhampton, Sunshine Coast, Caboolture, Toowoomba, Ipswich, Brisbane (Three locations TBC), Redland, Logan and Gold Coast.
The general concept of the day is as follows:
· local clubs promoting their sport, including interactive displays;
· ambassadors and high profile sports people promoting the benefits of being involved in sport and healthy lifestyle messages;
· giveaways of merchandise as appropriate ; and
· Sport and Recreation Service’s staff promoting the ‘Find Your 30’ message.
For further information or to confirm your interest in becoming involved please contact Sharon Finnan, Sport and Recreation Services on ph 4039 8299 or email sharon.finnan@communities.qld.gov.au
A registration form will be distributed next week and I look forward to meeting you, if I haven't already!

Hi All,
This show day is an excellent way for us to illustrate our rego issues across the state, promote our sport and grow our presence to DERM.
As you can see by the number locations that the sport and rec department are serious about changing peoples attitude to a healthy life style.
This is a golden opportunity for us.
We just need one quad at each location pointing out our issues and the great benefits of our recreation, to really hit some home runs.
Please contact your local Qld.gov sport and rec person for further details.
Email me if you want some help. We will be posting more info on our club website to assist. www.FNQuadRiders.com.au
Thanks,
Tim.

Thanks again Dino for your work in this area of quad riding and improving our image with the public and our "wonderful" (not) state government. Keep up the good work. Some of us appreciate it for the greater good of the sport.
