Hiya Marucshc, welcome to the forum.
As far as other options go, you can buy a brand new CfMoto in either a carbied 500 or a efi 600 both in one and 2 seater. for 7 to 8 k inc GST.

This is the new official Australian distributor.

There is quite a few of the older model bikes around. We've a 2 seater that has a 1000 hard km on it. We love it. We bought it because it had the credentials, the price was better than a second hand chance and it certainly has proven that the competitors bikes are not 5 to 7 grand better.

The few issues that I had with the alleged dealer were sorted out directly with the factory. Otherwise I'd say it has proven itself beyond what we expected. Very Happy

I am looking at resale and I think (as far as percentages go) the cfmoto and other chinese types loose massive dollars from new cause no one wants them secondhand. I upgrade my toys every 18-24 months, so resale plays a big role in purchase. Going to local dealers ( yam, suz, kaw, polaris) only reenforced this, after asking for trade, against my non existant cf moto 500. If anyone does research on cfmoto and reads ALL reviews will come to the conclusion, they are good value, but a chinese bike none the less.
PLEASE DO NOT SEE THIS AS A SLIGHT ON CFMOTO. They are what they are - a high end chinese quad bike. Dino, thank you so very much for giving me another angle of attack, I appreciate it alot.

No worries Marcushc.
And thank you for your positive comments about our bike. Very Happy
I agree that as far as resale is concerned, quads suffer pretty badly when your selling. And as dealers are obliged to warrant even 2nd hand stock, and they have a business to run, the cost of second hand stuff is very high if your buying. Plenty of people have traded in a bike, and seen it cleaned up and for sale for a lot more than they sold it for. eek
Talking NEW bikes...........................
I did the same, resale value excersise ,when buying ours. My reasoning was that if I'm going to loose 5 grand as soon as I buy it, regardless of make, I'd rather keep the bike than throw money at the system.
As a example......
A local ride park has a Cf Moto as well as Polaris stuff. The Polaris stuff gets turned over on a regular basis. This gives his dealer a permanent smile. The Cf. They've kept it. Because the dealer they are dealing with doesn't want it, they own it and it's still doing the job.
Likewise, a CF I looked at in Sydney was sold near new for 3 grand, and the guy was happy to get it. His importer had moved on and the big name dealers were not interested in giving him anywhere near that.
And that is because of the SYSTEM................................
Dealers are the industries own worse enemy. They try and force brand loyalty and repeat business through trade in values. Same as Korean cars....
The big name suppliers demand a dealer meet a set criteria, before being allowed to sell that product. It costs big bucks. And they rarely make enough to stand alone, so the quads are, quite often, a addition to something else they deal with.
And they get pretty snarly when the various Asian manufacturers will sell a container load of stock to any one with cash up front and a 98 piece tool kit out the back somewhere. Many of the importers make up they're own rules regarding warranty and taxes. They do it for a while and vanish.
And all that means is regardless of what you get, you're going to loose money on it.
Talking 2nd hand bikes..................................
Your still going to lose coin. But I reckon your quite right that you won't loose as much. Buying and selling privately is the go. Bugger the system.
I'll be up that way after the next wet season. I'll try and look you up.
