Hi all
Just an intro of me and my clan:
My name is Darren, I ride a worked 410cc Trinity Racing modified Banshee. No trick suspension or other chassis mod's just go fast mod's.
My wife rides a highly modified 660-Raptor(hence the RAPSHEE tag Raptor & Banshee) with a 770cc kit, Bills pipe, Ohlins, LSR extended A-arms, LSR Axle.
The kids ride a modified 80-Raptor with 110cc kit and slipper clutch (for adults to have fun) and stock suspension.
At the end of last year we moved to Queensland from Adelaide.
I have to say if you know your way around Adelaide there is some good spots suited to Quads.
Since we got to Queensland we havent been riding much for 3 reasons:
1, Dont know anyone here who has a quad(except my mate who just bought 2) so we dont know where is good to go for quads. We are mostly into beach and trail rides- not moto/x tracks. We do ride at local industrial estates and on unused land but we all know the legal risks of this practice.
2, My Banshee broke somthing in the gearbox/clutch just before we moved. (I will post a question about this- Banshee owners or Yamaha heads please respond if you know when you see it)
3, Worst of all we had no room left to bring my trailer (all our gear shipped in containers) so once we get settled I will get another trailer sorted. In the mean time I use my ute to drop off the little Raptor and gear then go back home to get the big Raptor. Then do the same to get the stuff back home.
Well there you have it the good and the bad.
Thanks for having us as part of this group and with any luck we'll meet some of ya's face to face sometime.

RAPSHEE, welcome to Queensland.
You should consider joining the Queensland Quad Riders Asscociation once your settled in. They are mainly ino MX (unlike me) but they have started to delve into other areas like Motard. Either way it's a good oppertunity to get ino the loop regarding meeting other social riders etc.
Cheers,
Greg
PS: Good luck with the rest of the move. _________________ 2012 Polaris RZR XP Turbo

Welcome Darren , good to see another fellow qld quad nut. U r right , there are few legal places to ride in QLD . But no need to let that stop ya. Once you get to know a few faces you''ll find the places they all go.
Trail riding needs more support in the region , there are plans afoot for some quad only trail riding areas to be established in the greater Brisbane region. Watch this space.

Cheers Greg
I have been looking into the QQRA but my only hesitation is the fact they seem so moto/x orientated but despite that I will join later this year an do my bit for the cause. I am keen to join a club but would have prefered if there was something here and now that caters for my beach and trail needs.
Can anyone out there see the need for this type of club to be established??
Surely not all of you have property you can ride on or race moto/x.
Cheers

For your beach rising the QQRA has the annual trip to Stockton dunes at the end of May.
And regular trips to Blackduck Valley. They have MX tracks and trails. The trails are rocky though. _________________ Mic

Stockton is high on the agenda. We were supposed to do it Australia day long weekend or Xmas/New Year but for various reasons it didnt happen. That is something we will do with friends or a club either way!! My mate has done black duck a few times and highly recommends it but for me I have to pay for 3 quads and 2 two-wheelers for 2 or more days to make a good weekend of it- ouch my pocket is burning already. Now I know its the price you pay but you get that.
Cheers
