Who ever organised this event should go back to their day job.
This was the biggest rip off I have seen in a long time and was an embarrasement for those that went to the effort to attend and race.
No wonder dirt sports in this country struggle to get the recognition they deserve.
And to charge spectators $15 each to watch mx races with 5 bikes in them .... ????
Get this , families were $25 but a couple had to pay $15 each . We got penalised because we dont have any kids ?????????????
The quads had good numbers but were seperated into three heats which made the races totally boring. ( No disrespect to those that raced) .
Even the food van owners were disgusted at the event. Idiots running these events need to get it sorted otherwise they run the risk of damaging the sports we love, even more.
Just my opinion , but as a businessman and long time supporter of these sports , it is disgusting to see people calling themselves promoters for these events.
Even my wife thought it was a joke !!!

for once i agree with huskygoat
i bet they didn't want to go to big to start with anyway, i thought it was well run and a good event, pitty there wasn't more spectators but it wasn't due to the gate price, mainly due to promotion of the event.
i do agree that they could of done better in promoting the event. but Pro Kiwi could you do better?
lets not slam them for there first attempt maybe the 2nd attempt would be the one if they didn't imporove.
as for the running of the event for quad riders. spot on to the organisers for listening to us in what we wanted in an event.
i will sure travel 10hrs to another one. _________________ 2012 sponsors, Working on it. |

Its easy to critisize on that side of the fence, bike numbers were down due to circumstances i am not allowed to talk about and the problems came to light only 10 days before the event, as for spectators, maybe there was not enough promotion in the right areas but i no there was a lot of money invested into the promotion of the event,
We split the quad races into the 3 groups because of the numbers... only 17 gates so max of 8 per class and as we had 19 entries to fill 2 grids and have 3 bikes left over seemed pointless and it gave everyone a good chance of having a good result in a heat race no matter what there level of riding was, it was a fun event regaurdless of spectator numbers and if you choose not to come to the next event that will be your choice.... _________________ TRESPASSERS WILL BE SHOT....SURVIVERS WILL BE SHOT AGAIN..

Guys , I appreciate your comments , for those of you that were actually there ,but in my opinion the entertainment was crap for the money , if they new they did not have the numbers for races etc they should not have charged the money they did to get in the gate.
This was the most disgusting event I have ever been to for value and entertainment factor .
The quads did there job , but honestly , if you think that event is going to draw the crowds next year after that poor show , you are sadly misguided.
And I'm not the only one who thought so . Just want to give some real feedback so hopefully they get it sorted if they try and do it again. Even the food venders will not be going back next year LOL .
Somehow I suspect the fence hire bill alone will have cost them more than they took through the gates.
As I said , just my opinion , but I'll not waste any more of my money at their events.
And yes I am qualified to comment, I used to run the event management for Pepsi Cola in NZ . _________________ It's time too ride !!!!!!! |
