kids riding and racing at a young age is hard to find some where

i have a opportunity to help the young kids come to a motocross track and ride practice three week ends a month and race 4 motos every second sunday of the month with trophies.

im a big part of Fort Lytton Mx Club and the club is willing to help junior ATV racing. Fort Lytton Mx is located close to the gate way bridge in brisbane. The track is fully maintained on a weekly basis.and the good thing is that you dont need a MQ licence to ride on the track because we have our own insurence as long as you are a club member which we let you pay off during the year.

so im looking for mums and dads to contact me with their interest so we can work out what age group and engine size ect.us guys at the club are flexible and interested to see what all you atv guys want to do for the kids.where thinking age group between 8-15 years old.

looking to see for interests from the parents please feel free to phone me on 0430731366

looking forward to hear from you.

Hi,

My name is Scott Younie and I am the junior development officer / club coach for the QQRA [queensland quad riders assoc.] .We at the club have been trying to promote junior riding / racing in Qld. Currently we have 3 or 4 juniors in the 12-16 year age group [200 cc two stoke / 300 cc four stroke] who would jump at the chance to practice / race . At our club weekends at Manar Park we have had a number of younger juniors [8-11yrs 90cc 2 stoke / 110cc 4 stroke] but only a few have ever spoke of racing .That's probably because they've never had anywhere to practice or race on a regular basis. I'll give you a call and see what we can get organised.

looking forward to talking
thanks scotty.

Keen to know what you come up with here. I have 3 kids 9, 11 and 14 who have bikes and would love to race them for starters. They would be into the quads more but their bikes go quick in standard form, whereas the equivalent quad would be exxy, asthmatic and very rough on the suspension without spending big $$ on them..

Keep me in the loop anyway, you never know what might develop

Cheers

Craig

hats off to you buddy for doing something for the kids, i mi9ght be pushing the envelope a bit here, but i have a five year old girl, that is completely fearless and a nutter whilst riding her quad. she owns a icebear 110 cc . pretty much the same as an atomic. she goes that hard that in 6 mths weve had to do a top end rebuild. my wife has a yamoto 150 cc , and she rides that too with no govenor on it.
would she qualify for the 110 cc class, or is it age restricted.
also i have been talking to a mate of mine who owns gold coast quads,
he is very interested in helping as well, he speciallises in atomic atvs.

Hey Dazz,
I agree with you. I think that we need to get "bums on seats" so to speak just to get juniors out on the track and circulating to let them find their way. At this age no parent wants to spend a fortune setting up a race bike with spare parts and all the gear only to have their child do two or three races then decide that they might like to try something different i.e. tennis , cricket or soccer.
Providing somewhere for "china's " to start would be tremendous.Limiting cc's to 110-125 , nerf bars and a kill switch/lanyard would make it financially viable and safe for the kids wanting to get into it and parents to afford it.
Then once a junior became confident and wanted to continue with their racing they could then step up to a proshark or cobra ,etc and even have a different class for the faster bikes once the numbers were established.
Something to think and talk about.

thanks scotty.

Hi guys

Looks like there is some good interrest and I can see two groups forming here.

I think what we need to do is has a sunday at the track see how many come and on what quads and ages. From there we can work out how we can run this.

I will Talk to the guys at the track and again and see if we can get enought numbers we can maybe run two classes.

Watch his space

hey guys just thought i would bring this to a bit of attention to some mums and dads on the gold coast or around the brisbane area.
we have been trying to secure a class for the juniors , the problem is we need at least 6 riders before this comes a class that can race.
we are not out there expecting our kids to win .
its just a chance to let them have the experience , and feel apart of something that alot of people would love to watch and do.
2 posis have been filled already ,
the class will be 90 cc - 125 cc (china) , i think.
lets get this happening for the kids, im sure we will all enjoy helping them as well.

As i said on the phone last nite the mums and dads in QLD are all talk and no show. I would love to see kids ride mx tracks, I have tried two years ago and two months ago.

the guys at Fort lytton have offered the kids on quads in QLD a chance to ride a mx track but there has been no support.

What the hell is wrong with the mums and dads by not turning up. I have a lot of pull at this track and can make it happen.

China only will take half the kids out so we need to open to cc not jap or china. I am happy to help and put in the work but you guys have to front up.

yep there is no problem with us fronting up , its the girls that are wanting to do it, they had their first taste of a mx track at glendon not so long ago , and have been excited about it since,. i do hope this kicks off for their sake.
it just a matter of getting the numbers.
thanks for taking time out to help us reignite this kev.
