Have you fellas seen or thought about getting one of those ATV camping trailers? I've looked at a few, most from the states, but I saw a good one from China but I think the price is to much. The Australian soul importer wants $5,500.00 I wrote to the manufacturer LUCKAMP saying i thought it was expensive and 1hr. later the importer (VH&MG Imports) rang me! back trying to justify the price . What do you's think . " I think for that money I can get a 6X8 camping trailer for a car Mad

I'm with you yogie. Its easy as to just tie my swag onto my bike and head out to a mates for a weekend. A lot easier that setting up a camper trailer. Maybe if you had a family though.

Ditto the swags.
Trailers off-road are more hassle than they are worth, behind ANYTHING.
There is some pretty good light-wieght camping stuff about, but they end in ING.
But, with the family Travis, sleeping off the ground at a base camp would have a lot of appeal . Maybe a pop-top. Nieghbour just bought a pearler on e-bay for $3800. !2/240/gas microwave 6 berth etc.
Teesh reckons woo-hoo behind your little truck, 3 quads on the back with the van behind.

yes well I'm thinking of my girls and the extra time away. You can carry a lot more food, water, fuel. You don't need to get back to "Camp" every night as well I drive truck and quad/ super dogs every day its more fun with a trailer dragging behind me. that was the original idea three quads on the truck and a little poptop with A/C. shower and stuff nothing like roughing it
this is my " big rig " laughing laughing laughing
and a little poptop with A/C. shower and stuff nothing like roughing it

If it's anything like most of the other junk coming out of China these days I wouldn't bother.

It would probably fall apart after halfway through the first trip.

Yep, lot of junk comes from China. Some good stuff too. About 60% of that lovely new Suzuki axi 750 is from China. Hope its the good stuff.
Lotta junk comes from the States, via Mexico and China. Good stuff too.
In the 60's and 70's many people were referring to made in japan as junk.
Times change.

Your right, there is some good stuff coming out of China and there is some absolute crap.

I think your reference to Suzuki is a bit simplistic. I'd be pretty sure that the people/companies in China that make parts under licence would have to pass the most stringent of quality control guidelines. I assume that would go with all major motorbike, car and truck manufacturers.

Some goods not made under any licence to reputable companies and are imported direct seem to suffer quality issues.

In any event, I'm with a couple of others, and would prefer to just pack up a swag and rough it a bit. The price of the item seems excessive.

I think the amount of stuff on the market is at saturation point, but I know when I take the GLW camping, she dont like roughing it to much and neither do I but, I'll survive and when its just me, I'm to lazy but to grab nothing but the basics. When your out for a night, keep dry, have a dry tea, or share the load. But campers are great for base camps, even I like the idea of a soft bed. Very Happy

I think this covers it.
"CFMOTO has been ISO9001:2000 certified."
Simplistic? Yep, Suzuki and Yamaha like to keep things simple. Kawasaki and Arctic Cat too.
Your assumption is right.
Quality issues home and abroad apply, licensed or not.
Yep. Swagging is easy. Yep. A bit expensive for that item.
In this "global market", things are not quite as they seem.
We've an excavator that comes from all over the world, we don't care as long as it works. Regardless of where it was allegedly made, the next one will come from a Aussie who backs his products warranty........

earthmover i built a small trailer for about $400 .
if you are any good at welding its not that hard .mine weighs in at just 80kg also put a 70litre water tank underneath .so thats about 150kg water and trailer . put my old rims and tyres off the grizzly and it tows perfect .

we make base camp put up a big tent and tarp perfect .
the trailer is only as wide at the quad and is very stable

bugger the tausion bar, work out many times you going to tow it in the bush then buy leaf springs, but work out your weights to with in 10-20kg and go from there.

check out these, way to pricey but a few good ideas

Austroco sells quad trailers but are to wide for my liking, not to badly priced I seem to remeber.

I have seen someone make a small trailer and use the rear torsion bar set up out of a subaru brumby ute, it unbolts from the vehicle and he removed the diff and drive shafts, worked pretty good.

Wiat untill I finish to see how much it cost, I had to make the tow coupling 4x4 ones are to big, and I used the end of a leaf spring for the other end of the coupling.
