| hi ive installed a gytr full exhaust with a monster intake and cobra fi2000 which was on another guys 06 and over time tuned to his rig now its on my 09 and when the quad is cold the performance is dismal it backfires and is not realy running that well ... when its warm its not so bad infact it feels quite good but i wouldnt write home about the perfornance.... i notice a little back fire when cold when i rev the quad ... the fuel controller has 3 pots pot 1 is Idle to 5k or cruise speed.... pot 2 is for when you hit juice .... pot 3 is full rev or maximising the power so ... because of the backfire would this mean the quad is lean and i need to add more fuel over all 3 pots or should i just adjust the idle pot ..... i dont want to dyno it as i would rather wait till i have a pcv and then do it .....for now i just want to get it close to right ... any one have any insight ? |

Could be lean or rich back firing like that mate kinda sounds rich to me.Altough you also said its the exhaust is off another bike did you use the old header seals (dont worry weve all done it lol)could be leakin around the header just somethin to check mate that and up at the joins.
Also someone else can chime in here did the computers stay the same for the 06 and 09's may also be something else to check mate.

Try to check the auto choke it might be stuck also try to replace the spark plug.
