Hey all, brand newy here, not just to the forum, but to quads. As of yesterday im the new owner of a much loved hardly ridden 1 owner 2000 model raptor 660. Never ridden race quads before, only 4x4 farm quads out pigging and hunting.
I've grown up riding motocross bikes, and ended up with a kx250 doing the whole freestyle thing, had a ramp and a compound at my farm. Up until 2007 when i sold it all to buy a better 4x4 ute.
Anyway, like i said just picked up the raptor yesterday and it only cost me an old car, a project car i had sitting at home for a while, i ended up trading the raptor for it. IT is bog stock, everything down to the front tyres still the original ones, like i said for ten years old, its hardly been used. Plans for it are a full exhaust, front and rear tyres, new decal kit, and possibly nerf bars and new handlebars, brake and clutch levers and throttle. Might also change the rear sprocket, go a few teeth more, i want a little bit more down end poke out of it.
I want to get back into the freestyle, but with the quad, and do a bit of trail riding, just gota find a track or some jumps at least, its so hard to find anyone to let you on there land these days, everyones scared of being sued.
Anyway thats all, i'll have to put up some pictures of the raptor when i get some time. Anyone from the Mackay area in Qld who is keen for a ride shoot me a pm. I'm keen to meet some people who love these 4wheel machines.
