I was asking the same ?? 6 months back. so i gave Andrew a call at Austraco he said he had them in a recovery kit so i said post them up to me. the kit has two straps, two bow shackles and a winching block but it turns out the straps arent snatch straps at all Sad just tow straps ~ no spring. I'm not really complaining though. My daughter made us one }A snatch strap{ out of some telstra rope. She just plaited three strands of rope and then interwove the ends to make the loops in the ends & not a bad effort for a 12 year old girl

I use a absieling rope with a bowline on both ends. Enough give to make a bit of sling shot effect like a snatch-um. And a lot easier to store and handle.
Realistically, even a fully loaded big 4wd quad doesn't take much to get it going again.......

be careful using dynamic rope as a snatch strap its only rated to around 1600lbs and when it snaps it'll near cut your head off if your in the recoil path

You might be referring to little stuff.......
Stuff I use is rated >3tonne breaking. Used sensibly, 500kg of quad needs very little to assist it along, and no problems. Certainly no loose heads on our trips.
I'd be more concerned about what the rope is tied to letting go.....
But good advice for novices JRE.

fair enough just dont mistake breaking load with shock loading which generally break alot sooner

They are both the same., it is only the method of achieving the limit which is different. Stuffed is stuffed when it breaks. Rolls eyes
Common sense generally avoids breaking stuff that way. Very Happy
As no quad on the market has real recovery points as standard, it's a moot point regarding snatching. Wink
Thruth is a bit if a tow will get most quads mobile. Laughing
Anything which will connect A to B with the ability to absorb the comparatively small shock loadings will do the job.
Total mass times 5 is a ample safety margin in this context.
Doesn't matter if your talking a flat tow or a pull from a bog-hole.
We're only talking about quads, not full size 4b's sunk to their bellies and much bigger......
But to answer Cranky's question, I couldn't find anyone in Aus either. If you really wanted it, you'd maybe best off buying OS and shipping it in.
