Got some brand new lonestar long travel off yfz450r. Dont know how much rooting around you will have to do to get them to fit banshee. Tie rods included. Near on 1550 new. Sell 900

thanks for that mate, yeah I've got to do some measuring up and see how much cutting and welding it needs. The lonestars would be great but a bit out of the budget for the old banshee

thats a good price. but dont forget that if you want the full potential of the arms you will need the spindles and hubs. then you will need tie rods, and the yfz tie rods dont fit. you are also going to need shocks. i found the 450 shocks to make the bike sit a little low.
after you add it up you might find buying a set of +2 arms from the states (wicked's etc) would have been cheaper.
it sounds like an easier option to use the 450 arms but if you want the most out of it it becomes a pain. i've done 2 sets and in the end, while i liked the look of the 450 arms it would have been easier and cheaper to buy a set of banshee arms. which i ended up doing anyway.
if you find a set allready converted that would be the way to go. _________________ 01 Banshee

cheers for the advice mate, yeah I've looked into getting some proper banshee arms off e-bay, but I think I'll give this yfz mod a try. I'm still doing an apprenticeship so keeping the cost down is my main goal. I've already got a good set of yfz shocks from a mate, plus I can get these arms for 250, and we've got a machine shop at work so it shouldn't cost me too much. the yfz brakes and spindles would be nice too, but a set of sticky front pads will be a cheaper option. worth a try anyway

well if you've got most of it, go for it, you dont really need the brakes, just the hubs spindles as the banshee one's will limit travel and flog out.
like i said i found the yfz shocks a little short, but heaps of guys run them. _________________ 01 Banshee
