I fitted one of these to our CFMOTO 500A.

WHY?
Our bike is normally loaded up, and was a bit sluggish accelerating the first
25/30 metres. After that it was fine. Further down the line, I was going to fit better and probably bigger tyres. That was going to make that problem worse, so I decided to fix the problem sooner rather than later. I did some web research....and found this:
"Suzuki Vinson 500 4x4 models, 07-09 Moose Tracker(import)500 Auto, 07-09 CF Moto 500 4x4 Utility
New kit with complete drop-in roller assemblies
DMT 500C
Suggested list price $174 CAD / $156 USD
A new kit that contains complete drop-in roller assemblies. This kit is designed to re-calibrate the shift pattern to help recover some of the losses from installing oversized tires. Bottom and midrange acceleration and performance are greatly improved. Also aids in performance when operating at higher elevations. This kit can be used with stock or oversized tires, however, when used with stock tires at low elevation it can cause a slight loss of top speed."

It sounded like what I wanted..........

WHO & WHAT I GOT 4 HOW MUCH?
Turned out the Aus. distributors were Graham & Russel @ ATV OffRoad.

About $230 changed hands. I got a new secondary spring, 8 rollers, instructions and a sticker or two.
Fitting took about 2 very casual hours by myself. You do need some skills and special tools. Note that the pulley nut tensions are very important....
And yes, I used the same belt. I do need a spare/replacement and I'll probably score one from ATV OffRoad as well. I've no problems with price or service of these guys.

THE TEST.
Seat of the pants was as Daltons website stated. Instead of the "I think I can, I think I can, I'm off!", it was a case of "Woo Hoo!"
We actually did some before and after tests, with video. As it turned out the video gives the most accurate timing. Posted below....
The actual test was a standing start on a bitumen surface over a 150 metres.
I've long held the opinion that our quad manufacturers are a bit liberal with the claims of "class leading perfomance" and "best in industry power"......They all can't finish in front, and 2nd, 3rd and the rest aren't that far behind. A benchmark is needed, not glossy brochures.

THE RESULTS
At the TRACK.......
The standard CVT gave me a best of 11.11 seconds flat with "about 71km/h at 5800rpm".
The Dawson modded CVT gave a beast of 10.12 seconds flat at "about 74km/h at 6000rpm.
.....................................................................................
That difference was all in the take off, that first 30 metres or so.
The speeds and revs I read off the dash.....
This is 460kg of LWB base bike and rider.....A second improvement is very good at the 1/4 mile in a car, on a standing 150m, it's amazing.
Top speed is too close to call.
I will point out that just nailing the throttle and going times were slower, but the difference was consistant, about a second quicker.
The best times were classic 1/4 mile stuff, front brake on and load up the transmission, let the brake off and hang on.
The standard tranny just wasn't putting it to the tyres, the modded tranny had the, now sticky, tyres axle tramping on the bitumen.
Of course, if a person were to compete in this type of event......
On the TRAILS......
It is much smoother down low. A lot less thottle and revs is needed to move off. It certainly feels better pulling uphill and out of slow corners. Enough power is rarely a problem, too much use of it can be. I might have to be more moderate with my thumb in the mud.
