The track can be accessed at the end of Raubers road, Northgate. If we have at least 4 quads they will make a season for us, need all usualls, nerfbars, killswitch, proper riding gear etc etc, no knobbys so you can run turftammers or similar aslong as the knob patterns are very close together so that we dont rip up the track, there are 12 start gates so we can have 6 quads at a time but they can run more heats if we have more quads, for any more info Google nbjmcc.com (north brisbane junior motorcycle club)

Hey Shaun, great talking to you today. I have been trying to put a reply posted to your topic up there today but it doesn't seem to be working. maybe you could try (text is below).

The Nth Brisbane Club Day is on the 21st of Feb and they are super keen to have quads racing there. If we get 4 or more there they will make us a class in all there scheduled events for the year. I am a definate and there are 2 others seriously interested (Phil & Andrew).

Also there is another dirt track down at Arundel on the Gold Coast called Mike Hatcher Motorcycle Club and they are keen as as well to have quads there. Mike Hatcher host a large flat track meet coming soon the Gold Coast Cup amongst others. They get quads from all over come to race at this event.

If you are new and interested in getting into this dirt track but not sure what you need to do or setup, drop me a line I am more than happy to help.
Here is the bits you need to get going:
MA Senior Open Licence and be signed up with any club.
Bike Mods - Tether lanyard kill switch, Nerf Bars, Dirt Track rear tyres (no knobbies - here are some of the better ones Kenda Dominator, Charisle Turf Tammers, King Slasher), I recommend you lower your quad centre of gravity help high speed corner stability.
PPE - AUS approved Helmet, Back protector, MX Boots & clothing etc.

Also there is another form of track racing called oil dirt track, this is my favourite. It is tracked made from compacted sump/vegetable oil and dirt mix, and would be one of the fastest surfaces around and a very exciting spectator setup. Action Park Raceway up at Maryborough and Greenhill Raceway down in Kempsey NSW host some awesome events and these clubs getting fully behind the quads. The only mods you would need to do to get into this is a change of rear tyre to a wet weather slick (King Veloce, Hoosier or American Racer work well).

We had a great time Sunday for the first club day at north brisbane dirt track. We had 4 quads rock up with a good mix of quads (GO the Banshees) and we had one female out there blasting around with us which was only her 2nd race ever (awesome to see). We got 5 rides in of 4 laps each, so not bad. The best thing is the club has a really positive feel about it which they haven't for a long time.

Next club day is on the 7th of March, I am moving that weekend but I am still aiming to get for a ride.

There is another dirt track at Kilcoy and we are pushing to see whether the club will give us a crack on there. I have raced there before and it was fine for quads. I spoke with the club a month or so ago and they were trying to tell me it wasn't wide enough (bit of BS). Will keep you posted for all interested.

Note: for those of you stressing about the correct tyres... DON'T. The track is in great condition and can difinatly handle a knobby tyre, I am sure for the first one or two rides you will get away with a worn knobby til you get sorted. Nerfs bars are a safety thing so I would recommend you get them fitted before racing just so you don't flip someone (or yourself) if you happen to get wheels tangled.
Again more then happy to lend advise, just drop me a line.

Hi , just wondering if there would be a chance of running a junior class at the flat track ???? 12-16 yrs on 200 stroke / 300 four stroke. And maybe a 90cc class if we could get the numbers.
thanks scotty.
