Ok, lets see how many are really keen to have a bit of fun. If there is enough interest I could organise a weekend fun day on the saturday of Easter for Buggys and side by sides on a very large property half way between Newcastle and Armidale, about an hour east of Tamworth. We would run a mixture of team GPS navigation events, maybe a winch test or two, time trials and a general fun drive around the property and the forest.

This is all for fun and not a serious competition, but a chance to get together and discuss where you might want to see your sport go over a beer or two aroound a campfire.

Then for those that want to you could head off down to Stockton, about 2 hours south of the property for the rest of Easter.

Let me know your thoughts,

Phil

Phil

Im right there with ya and have been hoping to get as big a heap of the buggy guys together as possible.

Just as a note what facilities would be available at the property?.

And with the GPS stuff can we get downloads and up loads for the GPS events etc. (Not that i have a GPS yet to think about it)

But got my full support and hope to be able to get there a day or two early if we need to set-up.

Hope to have other activities in the area over the Easter break but will make this my number one commitment.

Cheers Gavin.

Gavin,

There is a house on the property, but you would be wise to be self sufficient, but the owners are great people and would never turn away someone in need of assistance. As far as GPS goes, all you need is any basic unit that will give you lattitude and longitude readings. (Garmin etrex range is cheap and reliable for eg.) No need to download anything, we will keep it real simple (even my 12yo son can work my one to find out lat/long readings) Most street pilot type ones wont have this feature, but there are quiet a few now that do. And we will be showing you all how to use them and what to do. If you get lost, you get to drive your buggy more.

You are more than welcome to stay all of easter, we will be, I just thought we would have the formalities on the sat to allow for those that had to travel and those that wanted to move on and explore somewhere else over the easter break.

Maybe we'llmake a list of the few logistics like water, nearest town for supplies and stuff just closer to the date or if you have a list from a previous event you can lay up on the post. Then everyone should be covered in terms of planning. Very Happy

Gunna be a great event! Wheres the QLD boys surely its close enough for them to throw a hat in the ring?

Is Easter a bad time? If everyone would prefer another date, make a suggestion, I am all ears, lets get the ball rolling.

Other than the Easter break its school hols around that time for families although it doesnt impact me yet. If people would like to rry and get away during the hols then.

Or do June Long w/e? I spend my time at my discretion so Im more than willing to move with the crowd to make this happen.

Havent seen any comments from the rest of the Qldrs yet.

But I have a great deal of interest from 47Industries (they have a racing RZR for the Finke and a Ranger 4 seater as well) to come and be part of it although there is the Condo 750 on the Easter w/e 3/4th April, but that would put them near at hand for an extra day or two there.

But if another w/e, week is it Im on it.

Cheers

Yeah guys, the only problem all people have is the time needed to travel. Tamworth/Brisbane is about 6/7 hours with a trailer and all points left on license.
I'm like geeman 1969, in that we can go whenever. A lot can't.
Long weekends are a easy option, easter is lousy for a lot due to prior commitments being that only big break other than xmas.
Possibly you business blokes might talk direct to get a date and then throw it up.
PJSRZR, I take it from the directions you're talking Niangala/Nowendoc areas?

I havent heard anything else at this stage, I have sent a message to PJSRZR.

I do know a proposed competition has not yet been agreed by the CCDA committee having been on their forum.

Im keen to meet up with people comp or not, its time we kicked off the UTV/STV sports club as an affiliate.

Theres only more of these things to come and we dont get everyone affiliated we have no bargaining power to fit in anywhere.

Very Happy Very Happy
