hey ovale,
We rode straight up the beach from lancelin dunes, the only point we couldnt pass was due to high tide at a point stickin out into water, if tide is right you can go all the way along the beach or just bypass that point when you get to it, recommend the beach way coz the track is a preety rough ride with lots of exposed caprock. it was roughly about 35 k from the main parkin at offroad area to wedge dunes so bout 70 k round trip.
sorry cant help with track try google earthing it |

I've done that trip in reverse on the Banshee (Wedge to Lano) but ran out of juice half way back. I guess I shouldn't have played in the dunes at Lano. Watch out for the authorities as that area is off limits and well patrolled on busy weekends. Oh and I prefer the inland tracks, I got mega bogged on the beach where a 4x4 dug it up. Getting a quad out of that is like dragging a dead horse. _________________ 2005 Banshee Special Edition

yea i know what you mean about the 4x4's on the beach, I got crossed up in some deep ruts the sunday after chrissy and came off.
with the authorities i think sometime it is who is patrollin and how the rider is behavin. We passed the ranger on the way up there and in wedge itself , no dramas another bloke at work was there this w/end and got fined. Asked what he was doing ,just flyin thru wedge to get to northern dunes was the response. we passed the ranger in wedge doin bout 5 k an hour no trouble.
I had a mate ride with us on a 09yfz 250 and he ran out 3 times on way back jumpin over the washouts on beach and fuel splashin up so bike was coughin and splutterin and we did not ride anywhere in wedge just up there quick rest and back |
