been told there are no '09 run out 505sx's available (out of stock).
is it possible to fit a 505sx barrel and piston to the 450sx?
eg ride it as a 450 until needs a piston and then upgrade to 505...
im led to believe the rest of the motor's parts are identical to each other... eg head, cam, crank, carb etc....
is this true?

I was told the rod was different.......the pin is a different size.
Contact Len from ATV NRG he will know. I dont think its just a piston and barrel. |

Not practical really crank,Barrel,piston...are different &would be cost prohibitive.there are are apparently still some 505 at dealers around the country ,see if your dealer can get hold of one ,but you would need to sort freight .They also have 2010 available but priced acordinly .I feel the 450 is real good buying ,not far off a 505 in power anyway ,cam mod and jetting is all you need to do & your up there.

The most consistently quickest bike last year was of course a KTM 450SX.
Didn't see no 505's in front of it.

| At the end of the day the 505 is only 477cc's so it isn't that different anyway. |

I was told from ktm brisbane that the conversion kit contains piston, barrel and crank and costs around $3000  |
