Hello all,
I'm new to the forum so I thought I'd try a pic post for the first time.
The pic is of me on the banks of Lake Olive in the Cental Highlands adjacent to the World Heritage area. This is a very remote area and is not an easy ride.
The pic was taken in October 2008 and it was snowing lightly at the time.
Base camp was at a property called Gowan Brae which is approximately 20 Klm's due north of the village of Bronte Park. Overnight temperatures at the camp were about minus -5c which was character building. We also did a ride to Lake Ina on another day. Have a look on Google Earth. They are pretty remote.
The pic was taken by Phil Barnard who rides a Kawasaki 650 Brute Force and my ride was a Yamaha Big Bear 400 which I've just sold and I pick up my new King Quad 750AXi tommorow all being well.
I'll be at Bellingham next weekend so keep an eye out for the shiny new Suzuki if your there.

Hi Neil , great pics, i,ve been up there a lot over the years gone by for one reason or another, its a great place you look a bit cool, i bet ya there was more snotty noses than stiff d#$ks at the time, on another subject,, old fella once told me that there has been sightings of "yeti's or man beasts or abominable snowmen up in the remote highlands of Tasmania, i personnaly hav,nt seen any but have heard straaaange noises in the darkness of the night, if we ever meet up i will make the sound i heard so you are familiar with it , no.... i,me not crazy, sound something like a flock of black crows intoxicated,, i'll be down the bike shop tomorrow , may see you there now i know what you look like (sorta ugly) but i.me no oil painting either so dont feel bad.
two roo Tony. |

yeah it's been a good bike, got around 800hrs on it now,but only 5500 odd ks,only major trouble we have had is done 2 drive belts.other than that just ya usual cv boots and little things, and a lot of the plastic mount points and clips have broke too (not real impressed with that) ...just starting to give her a tidy up at the moment, and making front and rear bars..would definetely buy another one though. _________________ 2005 sportsman 700efi,farm n hunting rig!! |
