 |
|
Hey guys,
Just joined the forum today - dont have an ATV at the moment (selling the XR8 first) But will be buying a Raptor 700
Im new to the ATV scene and all i want is a good strong machine to thrash around the WA dunes, gnangara and anywhere else i can find or be reccomended.
Im looking to buy a new bike as i wouldn't trust used - no offence to the sellers of used but with this type of machine they get a good thrash (as mine will) most every time there used and i dont want to buy something i will spend all my time fixing and spending $$$$ on. With new i'll get a warrenty and peace of mind - ish.
I love the raptors look and sound and they have a good history and parts backup.
What i'd like to know is this - do i buy the SE or not?? is the extra $$$ for a wavey rotor and some extra paint??? i presume it will hold a little extra value i suppose??
Also, weak points...... you guys know more than me so can you advise?
I will be getting the sprocket guards, nurf bars, bash plates etc - anything else? steering damper?
cheers for your help

Welcome to the site mate.
The 700r has a rep of being a great bike for all types of terrain. Lots of torque and plenty of top speed. As for se really up to u. If you like the colour of the se and have a little extra cash then grap it. Yes it should hold it's value better than the standard, depends on the condition when selling.
there are heaps of people on here with them. You don't see many for sale in tha buy and sell section so that's a good thing I think.
Hope you like the sport and welcome

How much more for the SE? Do you like the standard blue?
If it was me and the difference was negligible, I would go the SE. _________________ Don't close your eyes during the crash, you'll miss the best part |

I was in your predicament a few months back when buying an 09 700R which had the black and marbled red plastics, they looked awesome but after havin a good chat with Matt at Cully's I went for the std blue and black cos they both had fully adjustable suspension unlike previous yrs and the only difference was wave rotor and graphics/plastics. As Matt said he would buy that particular SE if it was to stay in shed to be stared at (black plastics bugger to keep lookin new)
But sayin that if I was in the market for 2010 model I would def go for SE model that thing looks the biz.
Definitely the right choice of bike though , was my first atv purchase as well and she definitely carves the lancelin dunes and anything gnangara throws at it. Goin back up to lancelin this sunday |

cheers for the input guys - im going to see what January brings in the way of offers and deals so hopefully i'll be getting the 2010 SE. I wont use it as much or as hard core as whats it's designed for so it may best for me to get the SE for the resale value and the awesome look of the machine.
Lets hope the XR8 sells soon !!!
