I was reading a overseas quad forum....

This is from Valdez Alaska, today, a week before Xmas.

"Has anyone seen this show. I don't have Satellite or cable but have watched a few short clips on the net. They are doing a 13 episode series on Dangerous driving occupations.

They are currently filming up here in Valdez, Alaska doing Thompson Pass, when they got here last week it was beautiful sunny skies. As they filmed with the DOT crew getting footage of our "specialized" equipment getting some real beauty shots. I told them hopefully we'll get some snow for them to experience what it's really like. Well be careful what you wish for, between Monday and Wensday we've gotten 68.2 inches here in town at sea level. Bringing our total snowfall this year to 160 inches. We also had on Tuesday night 4.8 inches fall in 1 hour between 7 and 8 PM.

The film crew was busy the first bit wanting to get every snowflake and be out in the trucks and blowers and with the graders. By today they are wondering what kinda stupid idiots would live in a place like this( they are from New York) I've lived here almost my whole life and love every snowfall. Get out every chance I can on my snowmachine and plow my driveway with my Quad. Althought it took me 3 hours last night after getting stuck 5 times just getting out the garage door.

Just thought I'd share the humor in watching this "day in the life" series so look for it come late Jan, early Feb.."

Translated:
That was about a 173cm of snow from Monday to Wednesday.
That's 4.96 metres of the wet and white stuff for the year.
And 121mm of it in one hour.

Maybe the dust and the heat isn't so bad.......

global warming is a lie.

this was found out in the Climategate scandal where the scientists in charge of investigating it have been found out by their emails being hacked.

their emails basically say that they cant account for the lack of warming. and to hide the decline (temps actually cooling).

ummm, the intention of my relaying this story was to highlight the contrast at xmas. Maybe give someone something to break that akward silence after grand dad's teeth have fallen in Colleen's salad. laughing
They're inside the arctic circle putting up with what nature has thrown at them WHILE we are doing the same here in Aus, except we are about 40 degrees hotter, and a lot drier. Wink
While this guy is having trouble getting out of his garage because of a snow dump, many of us here wouldn't go out in the sun because it's too hot.
Same dog, different leg action. Rolls eyes
Still in Aus, a week after xmas, bushfires have taken 30 + homes north of Perth, flood boats are getting dusted off in western NSW and the BOM forecasted 35 degrees for Hobart. No exclamation mark there. Neutral
No matter where you are at xmas, or any other day, somewhere else , someone is copping it. Enjoy the silly season, because someone, somewhere isn't.

Re: Global Warming.
I wouldn't expect everyone to agree on something as complicated as that. Scientist or council worker or any one else. All this research, in all those different areas, by all those different people only proves to me how little we really know.
Interperetation, unlike hindsight, is never black and white.
And we only know what's been fed to us. After a while we decide what we want to believe in. Hrm Hrm
I believe the climate is changing. It's been constantly changing for a long time. Longer than these two-legged scalleywags have been around.....
But just how much, if any, the rate of change is being effected by us, well I haven't made up my mind. I guess that I'm like many people in that I don't want to reduce my lifestyle for something I don't understand and I don't trust everyone else to do it as well.
So I'll keep using the Malasian petrol, refined by Aussies for a American company, in my overseas built quad, to emit di-oxides into the air, which will make the ozone layer thinner over Antarctica AND , hopefully, my actions will contribute to the "scientists" on those Japanes whaling boats, that were built in Russia, and sold by Norway,
getting bloody sunburnt. laughing Evil or Very Mad
