Generation 1 ps3 will play the ps2 games if you can get a second hand one.

with the xbox 360 if u hook it upto the internet and play a normal xbox game it says u need a download of some sort. maybe that happens with the ps3??

you need a first gen 60gb ps3. only the 60gb ones are backwards compatible.
getting expensive and rare and are not avalible new anymore, check ebay i've seen a few floating around on there

Kmart or big W are selling PS 2s (which funnily enough are compatible with all PS 2 games  ) for $89 brand new.... why screw around? with a console that may, or may not play all ps 2 games? |

Because it saves the hassle of having 2 Play Station Consoles and changing and swapping it over on the tv all the time.
it annoys me when i change between Wii, 360 and foxtel.
