17cc to low try 21 and be safe. The coolhead good choice.

The large rad is a good thing as well. keeps it all cooler.

good luck with this project.

get a noss head. few reasons.

1 they use standard headstuds, still give you great cooling and apparently their domes are better desigened?

4stroker on here ran a banshee with 19cc domes on 98oct and never had any problems. where as i've head of 19cc pro design domes pre detonation on pump fuel. i havent done any research or testing on this but its very interesting.

i use a pro design head for the only reason that noss dont make one for the rz motor. and have ordered some 19cc noss domes for it to give it a bit more of a kick down low.

i run 21cc pro design domes, and the pro design cool head. people say they have tested them and the noss can run 19's but the pro can't, how can that happen?? it must be a lower compression on the noss domes?? whatever the reason, i dont know. i like the pro design head better, looks better and has more surface area, so it would run cooler. i have a fair bit of work done to my banshee and i run the standard radiator, and standard impeller in the water pump, and mine never overheats, even in this wheather!!

the way the domes are cut, the way the squish band is cut, the tolaraces and quaility control by each company.

and just because on head has more serface area doesnt mean it will run cooler. a radiator that holds more coolant might not cool as well as a radiator that is better designed.

Ive got a Noss head and run 19cc domes, dont have detonation probs or cooling issues, mates got a cool head and the noss looks better when side by side. It has larger water capacity in the head chamber and a better flow pattern than the cool head. Only issue is no one stocks oring for Noss heads in Aus, had to get from USA, still cheaper than cool head oring kits here and got em in 5 days

arent the noss and pro design o-rings interchangeable? i know the domes are, coz i had noss domes in my pro design head on my rz so i just assumed the o rings were too...

its not just compression that determines the quality of fuel you need to run, its also MSV (mean squish velocity) which is determined by squish angle, band width and depth..

jaquesy if you ever want a bit more comp and still run pump fuel just get some 19cc noss domes for your PD head, they only $65 us...

the noss domes have been designed properly using combustion chamber design software specifically for the banshee.

the pd domes are most probably just some generic design dreamt up by a cnc operator.
