Hey guys,
this may seem like a dumb question but i need to know. i just brought myself a Yamaha Kodiak 2x4 automatic, its in need of some work and a few parts but i love a challenge. the problem is i don't know what year it is, is there any way i can tell? the bloke i brought it off reckons its an 89 model 450. from my research i've only found info on them from 1993 on wards and i've found nothing saying there is a 450 2x4 only 400 2x4. any help would be great!

The 10th digit on your VIN.
I'm pretty confident the Kodiak wasn't around in 89. My brother-in-law had a early model 400 4X4 (grey colour) in the mid to late 90's. It was a 5 speed, not auto. I think the auto & 450cc came out in early 2000's.

cheers mate, i'll check out the vin when i get home. where abouts is the vin on the kodiaks?
