if everything is as you say it is, then it could be an air leak around the intake manifold/reed gaskets.

start it up and let it idle, and spray aerostart or something around the intake area. youll know if its leaking!

also take the ignition cover off and spray in behing the flywheel while its running, to check if its the left crank seal.

other than that, what jetting is it running? and what condition are the reeds themselves in?

Do you have standard carbs?
Make sure you put the little black rubber cross-over tube between the carbs back on.

Dont be fooled by the compression

sounds like the same problem I had with mine

Same , Left side/ Plenty of compression , after 2 days of fault finding
I couldnt put my finger on it.

I bit the bullet and pulled her down and found this,

Damn it here we go again Razz

Aitchy.

yeah, i think your tester was abit faulty lol. i dont think it will be that, i just rebuilt it!!! i think ive found the problem.... a few ignition wires were on the exhaust (when i put the engine back in i didnt mount the wires properly!!) and they melted through so, i think it was earthing out. ill know this arvo, i will let you know. thanks for all the help!
