Anyone know what the maximum tow rating would be for a VS V6 dual fuel auto ute?
I'm currently building 8X5 flatbed trailer to tow two quads (side load). I figure 3 quads (one in tub) average 180kg each, trailer weight with ramps & some fuel, gear etc about 350kg, + 2 passengers @ 100kg each.
Total 1090kg payload.
Towbar says it's rated for 2100kg with 120kg drawbar load.
Not sure how these loads are calculated. Anybody out there towing similar loads with a VS, how does it fare ? Been to the GM website for info but it's pretty useless.

i had one and had a light trailer with 3 yamie raptors on it with a full ute load as well, mind you this also had 17inch rims and on super low springs.

i would just see how it tows and take it easy if you think your pushing the limit.

it will be written in your owners manual,

commodore utes are rated at 1600kg (auto, with tow pack) and 1200 (manual).

your towbar is rated to 2100kg, but only wagons with heavy duty tow pack (airbags in springs etc) can legally tow this.

How it works is 1600kg is how much weight you can tow, the 150kg is the max downward pressure on the tow bar.

This is regardless of what you have loaded in the ute.

So as long as your trailer weighs less than 1600kg fully loaded, your ute can tow it legally.

Yeah it's already got one fitted, GM actually recommend a pwr stg cooler as well although I can't see why that would be affected by towing.
