Had my YFZ on a chassis dyno a few months ago. It was showing an air/fuel ratio of 17/1 at full song/max revs. I know this is extremly lean for a normally aspirated car engine but does anybody know what it should be for a bike.

BTW..It made 29.6hp at the wheels

Had my bike on a dyno a few times and the tuner wanted between 13 and 14. With 19 inch tyres (because tyre size made huge differences to hp figures) my bike made 51.3 hp. Has a ported head, full exhaust, air filter and cam mod otherwise the bike is standard. On premium unleaded also

It is my understanding that a four stroke engine while under load makes best power between 12.5 -13.5 a/f. Dont quote me on this but i also thought tyre size really on made major changes in torgue readings on a dyno, eg 1 st gear would read better/higher than say 4 gear on a dyno, though i could be wrong on both torque and a/f ratio.

A/F is good to go but we found tyre size alone could make a difference of around 6hp. That was going from a 18in tyre to a 22in tyre
