I currently own a 700 Raptor which i intend to use for primarily enduro, maybe a couple of desert races, mainly weekend duties.

Having had a bit of time on all 3
best bang for your buck is the LTR, Comfy, good power and handling without having to spend up.
TRX has real smooth power and good performance esp the 06 now with the FCR carb and high comp piston.
YFZ as a stock quad is probably the harshest of the three to ride but, is still a sharp handling light weight machine on the track.
All just IMHO _________________

Is this the Ryan that can't keep up with my wifes 250EX?
Why do you need another bike, you can't even ride your 700 Raptor well enough. On the weekend I saw a Ranger in a Ford Courier overtake & roost your butt. If I was you I would give the Raptor to the misses and buy a 10hp Briggs & Stratton buggy cause that's all you can handle. _________________ Don't close your eyes during the crash, you'll miss the best part |

Hey Ryan. I was only joking in the previous post. Please don't hurt me when you see me June long weekend. I'll sell you my YFZ450 for $20k, but that includes a spare oil filter (used twice) and a left handed thumb throttle _________________ Don't close your eyes during the crash, you'll miss the best part |

I've ridden all three of the Jap 450 4-strokes and have to say I'm so glad I got the Suzuki. $11990 RRP + $90 cherry bomb + nerfs and kill switch and go racing. No tyre/rim change, no a-arms, shocks or axle. Spending almost stops when u leave the dealer. Ur looking at upwards of 5k to get a yamaha or honda to handle anywhere nearly as well as the Suzi. _________________ Proud Member of QuadridersSA

700rappy,
Buy one before June Long Weekend so I can have a go at Stockton.
It's the least you can do since you've rode mine
You are going in to Stockton June?

Right Now,definatly the Honda TRX 450 06 for MX and 05 for Dirt track if you plan on making it a full race Quad .Why ?
Because when you spend the the money on all the usual mods Like suspension,a arms,engine...You basically have the same ride hieght, balanced, width and similar handling quads and then it comes down to what colour you like !
Yes even the Talked up and fine Suzuki will need its wonderfull stock axels,a arms and Suspension changed if you plan to race as competativly as you can ,Grades C, B or Pro .
One thing sets the Honda ahead of them all .The Engine by a long way has the most, best and usable HP .
Honda cosistantly win more MX Races in the USA where the worlds fastest and most progressive pilots and Quads are in the world .
USA MX Pro Ranks Honda currently has 7 out of the top 10 positions in the States and consistantly take out the top two positions with John Natalia(Way ahead ) and Joe Byrd both on Hondas . The best engine builders in the states like Dee (John Natalie builder ),Dan Lamey at DASA (Joe Byrd) and Ron Hamp are now getting around 64 plus HP out of a CRF /TRX 450cc with a wide usable power band This will give you the best Chance of Holshots ,acceleration out of corners and clearing large jumps. I believe The maximum HP out of a Suzuki and Yamaha is below this at the moment and will need more R&D
Fuel injection does not nessesarilly give you more power it just measures the fuel easier and better than a Carby. You can Rebore and Jet an FCR to suit an engine combination you have built and is the key to producing maximum HP . I believe the three Quads are all good ,but right now if you want the best and you plan on going all the way with a build the Honda is the go ,The results in USA speak for themselves.Im not saying someone on a Yamaha or a Suzuki cant win ,because the rider is obviously a big part of the result ,but the same riders would be faster on a Honda due to engine HP and development.Just My 2 cents worth.
Cheers Me |

Picking up the bike (LT-R) this saturday, got a awesome deal, cheery bomb fitted and free first service, have to drive to newcastle to get it as there are now none in the state on any floors exept for this one.
none will be available until mid may and they have all been ordered/sold already......
might just have to make a quick stop at stockton to test it out while were up there.
thanks all |
