Now that the wet season is approaching and riding will be out of the question for a few months I've decided to pull my girl (quad that is) appart for a pretty up.
Can anyone recomend a type (2pac, hammertone) brand etc paint I should use on my frame. I'm guessing it would have to be hard wearing. And a guesstimate on what its worth and how much I'll need. I think I may be able to get the labor fo free.
Any info like what to do or not to do throughout the process would be really appreciated.
Dont forget I'm mechenically retarded and from the NT so no big words please.

| I would go for powdercoating. It comes out of the oven cured and gets into all the nooks and crannies with no overspray or dry edges. There are different colours including metallics or the hammertone effect. You would probably have to ship your frame to a major town or city up your way. Most powdercoaters have abrasive blasters on site, so there would be no labour on your part except for the teardown and reassembly. I think you would be looking at $300-$400 depending on your colour. Metallics have a couple of extra processes over solid colours. |

I got some powdercoating done on my quad, all the a-arms, swingarm and the frame. I went through Darkchild666 on here. he got me a great price but also the powdercoater brought the price down heaps because he took ages. It was $200 for everything, inc. the sandblasting and the prep work. Was good but like i said we got it cheap because he took so long. And then when you get it al back the threads are full of the powdercoat, takes ages to get it all back together because of this. _________________ Mic

| Buy a 6, 8 and 10mm tap for the threads. You will clean them all out in 20 minutes. |

Screw some bolts into the holes to protect them & cover with silastic anything you do not want sand blated. _________________ Cheers-Redted. 04 Raptor |
