I sent in a rule purposal last year trying to allow quads at the drags, but the only reply I got out of that was quads and trikes are only allowed to be used as tow vehicles.
there is a $20 fee to put a new rule forward to ANDRA but im sure if we can get more people together we will be able to get some where.
is there any other intrest or am I the only 1? |

I think andra would only be interested in large numbers and ONLY dealing with an entity eg.club.
At present all we offer them is one or two guys saying yer we will come.
I am sure there insurance would not matter if it where 1,2,3or 4 wheels.
But getting on there track is another thing.
Besides racing a 1/4 mile on tar is going to be SCARY fast.I NO IM GETTING OLD!! ..but my bike will hit around 300kph.not sure if im that keen,not to mention how a big bore banshee is going to handle 1/4 mile passes?
But in saying all of that build it and I will come.

I for one can't wait to see some of these bikes go down the strip. I've had alot of different bikes on the dyno and haven't seen the numbers that some people throw around here. It's amazing to me that my 50hp bike pulls away from a "60hp" bike from other shops. Very interesting talk in the pits afterwards I'm sure.

when looking at a dyno pull alot of people only look at peek hp, this in my eyes is almost useless info.
Im my experince on dynos and on the drag track the faster quad is the one with the broader power curve, give or take 10 to 20% peek power.

I've seen dyno pulls from other companys that just don't look right. Anyone can put in a different correction factor and change numbers it's really easy. On one of the most respected sprint car dynos in sydney I changed a 502 big block from 700hp and 800ft pounds to 1200hp and 1350ft pounds with only a keyboard.
My point is I've seen these dyno print outs of other bikes and they've had 20% more hp across the board and my bike made them look silly or should I say the shop that gave them that sheet.

I agree totally, but on a dyno dynamics dyno on shootout mode that I use,
the load is pre-set and cant be altersd.
In saying that I have seen plus or minus 10 hp on a 50 hp quad by loosening or tightining the swing-arm strap.
But hey, we have to remember that a dyno is a tuning tool..

Im Heading out there this week to meet up with the contractor who will start the work as the other contractor we had lined up was to busy to get started. We will now no a definite date as when racing will take place as soon as i have this meeting.
Just to keep you intrested wakefield have agreed to set up there drag lights tree there will be times available on print outs so you no were you stand they just have to check there machine out for the print outs or they said they can organise another one from Winton.

Speaking to explosive racing and they where concerned with how much sand to add to the dirt on the track to soften it,these shots where taken in little sandy at the nationals in kentucky.It almost looks like pulverised dirt?
