What size tyres would you guys recommend for this race. When I get a bit more money I need some new tyres and will just buy them to cater for this race and then use them for everything else. Would a 20" be big enough or go a 22"?

hey feral
i do a lot of riding at pinaroo and i personally would run 22's
the 10 has 20's and the 421 has 22's.
i know at last years event people with 18's were getting bogged within 200m of the start line, so 20's is only 1 inch away from suffering the same fate.
most of your riding at your place would be similar terain, so 22's is my advice.

Yeah, 21's or 22s feral.
Last year was a shocker because the rain meant the moisture in the sand allowed the wheel tracks to cut extra deep without falling in on themselves.

Bummer is, you really need an ideal set for everything hey Smile

For this one though, Austraco's Fury 22's are good and cheap.
But if you want to cover all basses with one tyre, ask Andy about the 21 inch ITP GNCC???

Hey check your rear spocket hub for movement... if there is any play at all forget the big tyres, as the sand and big tyres will flog that out.

And if your after a good allround tyre the kicks ass everywhere try the Maxis Razor 2 they won't break the bank .

I had a look and there is no play at all in the hub so it should be good. Your not wrong though Bullet about the tyres too. A 22" would be good for the enduros but a bit too big for when I do moto-x, arena cross or speedway. What are the round about prices for the GNCC and the Razor 2? Just so I can decide on what to do.

some with a heap of new stuff AFAIK.

feral I'd head for 23 Front and 21 rear for riding in the sand. Kenda Parker DT's are what we ran on Smitty'd DS's last year and they worked well in the deep ruts.

If you are going to do some MX then you'll really want to get some MX tyres to get that YFZ down low.

I think RRP's are around
GNCC 21x11-9 $175 each
Fury enduro 22x11-9 $120 each
Austaco (03) 5341 2770

PeteW it would only be the occasional mx. Only 1 every couple of months.
Thanks for those prices too Bullet.
