i am a little concerned that though the flag may have some obvious safety benifits, has anyone given thought to the risk of infection if the flag pole snaps off and becomes loged in one's ass whilst attempting a superman seat grab? _________________

Unles they gave you licencing rights to use their flag/symbols or even tribal names, do not go there, would be a legal nightmare, great idea though.

Didnt they tell you... each flag comes with a bandaid and a if you were a brave little soldier there's a jelly bean included also. _________________ 2005 KFX700

Well aren't we all an odd bunch of people. A competition run and funded by a non-dune riding forum member offering prizes of custom dune flags and whips rates thus far, 5 member entries and 661 views. A heated arguement over statements made in an ATV mag however rates 43 replies and a whopping 1266 views despite being posted two days later, and would probably have reached a much higher figure had Yogie not closed it down. It seems we have a lot of passionate dune riders here on the forum and in particular those riding at Stockton. I have never been to Stockton and so cannot make comment on how you guys should try and resolve your current wad of issues. I am however trying to provide something cheap and simple that will demonstrate to those other users of the area that you are organised and part of a group. At least that would be the impression that I would get if I saw a bunch of quad and trike riders unloading at Lavis Lane all sporting dune flags emblazened with our forum ID and perhaps the words "Stocko Rocks!" . Just my two cents.
For those still intending to enter, don't forget that the competition ends this Friday. _________________ I'm not suffering from insanity, I'm enjoying it!!!

Just my thoughts so it's more suitable for everyone. _________________ "If in doubt go flat out"

Once we have decided on a design for the flag, they can be personalised as each membr sees fit ie. individual user names etc. There is nothing to stop forum members promoting their own riding areas on them as long as the general design is retained. _________________ I'm not suffering from insanity, I'm enjoying it!!! |

Some existing samples. Obviously the lettering can be replaced with the forum members ID's and the forum address etc.
...and the custom flag I had made for Mrs Fossil's Raptor

I like it John. A subtle mix of safety, ie the flag, and the element of danger, ie riding in shorts and sandshoes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well not quite the volume of entries I was expecting. Pm's have been sent to all those forum members who took the time to submit legitimate designs to the competition. Each will receive a whip/flag combination of their choice from the DW Flag website. Congratulations and thankyou for your effort. _________________ I'm not suffering from insanity, I'm enjoying it!!!
