Guys,

For information on this event visit www.ccda4wd.com.au and click on the Opposite Lock 4wd Challenge info. Or if you want any more specific info or discuss anything direct with Mike Smith the organiser, you can email him on team4wdchallenge@hotmail.com.

Got your number recorded Chris, will be in touch closer to the time to discuss travel accomodation etc. From Tamworth we normally travel inland to Melbourne, takes about 12 hours.

Phil is our event going to require bootcamp beforehand? And will we get more than one race so we can share driving and navi duties do all the fun things since this one isnt for sheep stations. And since its not for sheep stations is it going to cost us $450? Covered in the RUV supplementary regs?

I have passed it on to contacts not on OZATV who have a number of friends with RUV's as called on the flyer.

Great stuff,

Hi ALL<
Just thought I would jump in here.Unfortunately I will not be able to get to the Melbourne event due to other commitments.I am sure you will have a ball.!!
Update on my RZR LE. I have installed my winch and harnesses and an aluminium roof I made, so I guess I am ready to go except for driving lights.Bloody shame to miss the first one! Sounds like there will be a few on board to carry the flag though. Will get some piccies up as soon as my kids show me how to!!
Cheers and good luck in this event.

Not sure on this question regarding entry fee, but will ask the question. CCDA membership would be compulsory for insurance purposes ($44 per year). I can't see bootcamp being necessary for us but will check. The Opposite Lock series is regarded as the starter series to other events so it's not full on hard core and I am pretty sure there is no night stages.

Sorry, I should have read your post better Geeman, you would usually do 10 events in one weekend, so plenty of opportunity to change drivers/navis. But all drivers must be have a car license.

Are we going to see online reg by a certain date and is that going to be a certain number of machines? When we are geting closer to the event that we can find out about amenities and logistics like canteens, food stalls, what happens at the camp-outs, etc etc.

But one thing I'd like to add in addition to incent people to turn up to the event is to not only talk about the ongoing requirements of the CCDA copetition but also to talk about establishing and Australian SXS association and set an interim commitee to help establish that with some agreed aims.

Like getting a standardised class for all racing events so our SXS machine that can compete in CCDA can also get events in the same machie and class in Finke, Condo, Torq and associated interstate events the whole Australian Offroad series. Whatever we want to decide is a good thing.

So for the good of what yopu've got and what weve started lets get it all together and make it bigger and better. Even if the outcome of meeting in Melbourne is just to determine that we need to have a centralised event to call evenyone together I'm sure Phil will know what round is on in NSW or wherever is aceptable for almost all people to get to.
