with the polaris in the back and the kfx on the front i think the draw bar will be well over 100 kgs of down would pressure on the ball.
looking at the pics the rear wheels of the polaris are over the axle of the trailer, this puts 3/4 of the weight of the polaris on the front of the trailer.
you then add the steel used to make the draw bar that long, and also the weight of the KFX and i would be guessing up around the 350 - 400 kgs
on the ball.
unless of course the back of the van has a large water tank or something to help balance the load. |
good point there chap, but the polaris sits further back now and the water tank, and when I get hold of an lpg tank, this will all sit back of the axel, but thanks for the advice and feed back 10/10.
Does anyone have a lpg donut tank lying around ??? still in date would be handy. _________________ 2005 KFX700

Well I got the ambo trailer registered today, once vicroads decided if it was a trailer, then a camper, then a trailer, but they finaly decided it was a camper.... Gunna have to try it out real soon, where it snowed once before, and if you read this buzz, you can have your helmet back _________________ 2005 KFX700

I always thought you were... There is about 600mm at the front once both bikes are in. The stickers only cost just over $200 all up for both sides, the back and a heap of smaller ones. We put them on ourselves. There are enough bubbles in them to lighten the trailer by a couple of hundred kilos . _________________ I'm not suffering from insanity, I'm enjoying it!!! |

There are enough bubbles in them to lighten the trailer by a couple of hundred kilos...........
That give me a chuckle.
It made me wonder if wearing bubble-wrap would make me light enough to race again.
I'll think leave that whole broke-back mountain thing alone but.

Doesn't work that way trust me. At my age I produce enough gas to propel me past the pros you would think, but in reality all I really end up with is stains and an ordinary odour. _________________ I'm not suffering from insanity, I'm enjoying it!!! |

I finaly got my trailer done. As can be seen, fits three quads with room for a two wheeler as well. All of our gear fits in the front waterproof box. ramps slide in under the front. Tows real well.

Not quite a trailer but its how i will transport my quad. Its our business tow vehicle and we are away quite alot so need somewhere to stay. Its not quite finished but have spent the last month and a half working on this. Built from the ground up on an 2010 Hino FD Medium Chassis, 7.6L Turbo. Has a shower, Kitchen Double bed, couch, tv, will get two more single beds, split system air con, bull bar, lightforce lights, roll out awning and graphics to break up the white abit.
Quad will go under the double bed at the back in the square i drew on the first picture.
