I currently have a TRX400, I'v been riding quads less than one year but it looks like I may be looking for more power already. I like the 400, it's light, I can throw it around and its fun to ride. I have a couple of mates with DS650's which I love riding but they are a tad heavy.
What's the Kwakka KFX 700 like? has anyone experience with both? _________________ Cheers,

the ds will leave the KFX for dead, end of story... BUT these are two compleatly different quads, the DS will suit a rider that wants to give s#it all day, great soft suspenion and power when you need it. The KFX, you point it in a direction, hit the gas and hold on, they dont compare at all, I think a closer comparioson would be the outlaw 500, 525 against the DS.
I love the KFX its a big bike that needs a lot of work on corners and on straights its hard to beat (in my crappy opinion ) its not to bad when they actully leave terra firma and yes I have... and I wouldnt ride anything else. the bad thing about them is they are bloody thirsty.
Oh the other reason you SHOULDNT BUY the kfx is all the tractor jokes. they ae so funny...
Oh I've ridden three DS by the way. _________________ 2005 KFX700

The KFX700 is a heavy bike. Easy to ride though and they sound sweet with the twin Yoshi system. I think a better comparison to the DS650 and closer to what you have is the Raptor 700R...

I've been riding the KFX for 3 years now, and you bet they fly but its a 240kg bike, its a lot of weight to drag around but these are the best hill climbers than any other bike on the, market though. And I thought about comparing the 700 raptor but I feel they are another compleatly different bike agin to the DS, mind you I've only ridden one though. And your right about the KFX's, its a shame so many of the guys I know all have this stigma about KFX's and wont give them the time of day. _________________ 2005 KFX700

I gota agree with 700Quad my girl rides a KFX and she loves it she weighs 58 kilos and throws it around like theres no tomorrow and wheelstands it all over the place. I vote this quad best value for money, best fun factor +10 and reliability is second to none. With some small modifications it is even better ie pipes, air cleaner and wheelspacers for the rear totaly transform the quad.

does her quad have the standard tie rods on it ??? I put the thicker tie rods on and guy I knew had a stock KFX and said my sterring was way to heavy compared to his. And fun factor your spot on, my missus wants one. Just wish... (listen up here Kawasaki real good now) it had fuel injection _________________ 2005 KFX700

IMO
The DS650 is probably the best long distance, dirt road hauling bike.
For big trail riding and long cruises.
They also have great gound clearance and High footpegs, which have many negatives, but are great for going through wash outs and creek crossings etc.
The 700 Kwaka is a very easy to ride, point and shoot fun bike.
Easy in tricky situations if you are someone who might stall in ugly sand spots, creeks or hill climbs etc.
The Kwaka probably feels a bit heavier and I find their steering a bit rough on the rider.
But they are fun and pull like the proverbial. _________________ Can-Am X Team

Hi Yogie yea my girls KFX has better tie rods on it there not any thicker just better steel (dont ask me what there made of the enginering joint made them up). For any female these are the best quad no gear shifting just point and shoot. I heard a rumour similar to 700Quads that at the end on 2010 increase in displacemet to 750 and injection and possible full adjustable suspension. We are holding off to see if they surface then we will do the upgrade. I have a fast Banshee and still enjoy giving the KFX a work over like I said best fun Quad bar none.

this setup here that i made works extremely well to maybe 4sale soon
2 into 1 manifold works best with my mikuni 38mm flatside deletes the air box and gets rid of the vacume slide stockys and replaces them with mechanical slide mikuni gives the bike a good bang

Hey dude,
it all depends on what you are really after,
ive had and ridden a "profanity removed" load of bikes,
and my personal favourite is the DS650 which i own, and the Yfz450.
The KFX and DS are both excellent bikes,
but they are completely different.
It all depends on what u want from the bike.

Thanks fella's, just the feedback I was hoping for. The problem I'm having is no-one I know likes the KFX (screw them anyway) but more importantly where do I get to test ride one?
The owner of the local Honda shop was trying to give me the big sales pitch on the new 700XX, and even after I explained I was only there to get an oil filter for my TRX400 he still kept on about it. He sure did go quiet when I asked when their next ride day was !!!

Theres one in a quad shop not far from me that needs 3rd gear and selector. Guy said parts aren't a drama.
It's actually for sale but it's been raced (fink & gasdash [i think] ) so I'm a bit iffy about it. Money's tight at the mo. _________________ Cheers,

Cheers, your offer is most appreciated. I'm not far from Cannington.
700turbo??? Holy crap!
Nah mate, I'd be pretty much after a stock donk, or close to it. I think I'd rather have mods to the suspension and a wider axle than anything else. I'm not what you would call a power junkie.
I'm actually gonna keep the 400, for the missus, and for me riding on tight bush tracks etc _________________ Cheers,
