Hi everyone
Last time out riding I bent my front rim/wheel
Still holds pressure and no cracking
Any suggestions on how to straighten other than a piece of wood and large hammer
Or would you not bother, more likely to break it trying to straighten
Has anyone welded in strengtening rings into OEM rims, ala ITP Baja style
If so how succesful and indication on value/price
Cheers

yes you can weld in rings an make them a little stronger .but they will only bend some where else like where they bolt on to you hub i have seen these bend in both places on douglas red lables an oem rims .all depending on what you do most on your quad ide look at the OMF bead lock rims ,pricey but you wont be buying rims anymore or tyres breaking bead a friend of mine hit a two wheeler at finke this year at like 80 k or more an rim was not dented or flat i have a set of these an they are far most the best on the market look on this web site www.hustleratv.com.au

that would be me I would have hit him at somewhere between 90-100kmh when he turned in front of me on the finish line, it bent the bike and me pretty good and dented/scratched up the swingarm on the xr650 i hit, the rim is dead straight just a large gouge out of the beadlock ring very impressed with the strength of the OMF product

since your in W.A. call Legend quads for i have been told that they weld those rings on the rims to make them nice and strong and they should be able to fix your rim too. Very Happy

Don't bother trying to fit a stock yamaha wheel there not that strong to start with. , as above said if it still holds air and is not rubbing on anything it will be ok.

but if you just can't help yourself spend your money on a stronger brand of wheel.
, cheers

Those OMF wheels that hustler sells are the best ... can't break them .. X-Factor (my sponser lol) bought a set for Kamfari toughest quad race in Australia .... He bend everything on his Can am ( like a banana) except for those rims .. I don't think there was a tree out there he didn't hit.. Laughing Laughing

They had ring on the inside and bead lock on the outside.
