 |
|
Hi I'm Chasing some information on an oil cooler for a 525 ktm. From what i can work out there seams to be three different ways to go about it.
1 Take off the small steel line going to the head and reroute it through a cooler. This seams the easiest way to do it but i;m worried about pressure drop and the volume of oil.
2 plumb a fitting onto the outside cover of the small oil filter go through a cooler and drop it back through the oil filler cap. would this allow to much oil to bypass the small filter?
3 Make a whole new filter cover to completely remove the small oil filter and reroute the oil through the cooler and back in where the oil used to go through the oil filter. This seems to be how the americans are doing it but does anyone make a fitting to delete the filter in Australia.
Any help would be appreciated. |

| Thanks for the welcome. The americans all seem stuck on removing the rear filter. If the oil that goes through the rear filter drops straight to the sump then bypassing some of this through a cooler and dropping in through the filler cap seems like an easier idea than manufacturing a fitting in the rear filter holder. Any Ideas? |

There's a mob in WA called CPW Safari that do a cooler kit. They made their own after testing the other ones on the market and not getting good results.
