if you have stock carb go red needle 3rd clip 48 pilot 180 main and use sx 505 intake , do you have any more mods to the motor the 806 cam works very well with 540 .have you done the crank mod just be carefull with your jetting , the 540 make more heat, we have a 540 making 59 hp we had to do a twin thermo set up and high flow water pump. the temp now set at 82 all day if you need any specs or a twin thermo kit pm me we have spent a lot of time on the dyno with the rfs engine.

Hey streeto thanks heaps for the info i did order a 505 intake for it as i have a 505 sx and they are heaps bigger... i dont want to stress it to much as i plan on doing finke on the 540... the big end let go and i thought it might had detonated but seems it was just wear and tear... your twin thermo set up how ever would be a big advnatage as i do pony's and alot of bush work on the bike.. two of the same original fans? doesn't load the electrics to much? you able to pm your phone number so i can give you a call..cheers
